Posted January 13th, 2011 08:54 AM IP Guys...the site domain and space is up for renewal. It's not a big deal as it costs $15/year to keep it going, but our participation is obviously down significantly. Part of it is the loss of all our "history" and the lack of a front page, of course, but the message board was always home to most of the activity anyway.
Do you guys still want this 'board or have we moved on? We have two weeks to decide... Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!

Posted January 13th, 2011 05:08 PM IP Keep it Rings. There's a lot of good Tigers fans on here that I'd like to listen to. I'll buy you a beer as my contribution towards the yearly subscription. Who's on first? Yes, the butcher's name is Who.

Posted January 13th, 2011 08:51 PM IP I'm still in. It's tough when the board goes down twice in three seasons; we lost some good people. But most of my favorites are still here. Thanks for keeping it going.

Posted January 16th, 2011 09:07 PM IP I'm still in man. I know it's only 15 bones, but if you want to set up some form of donation thing so we can pool it. Or we'll just meet up at a Tiger game and grab you a beer. I hope we have diplomatic relations with the country that ball lands in.

Posted January 17th, 2011 10:34 PM IP Ok, guys. I'll renew it.
The $15 is no big deal, but didn't know if we still had interest.
Would be nice to see jfine/Blade/Kruk back more often...I miss them all, along with crazy Russ... Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!

I try, but its been a crazy year for me and I'm in job search right now, so that takes too much time. For budgetary reasons, I may not be able to get the Tigers games package next year either, so I may have to find another way to watch or listen.

This is disappointing news, hopefully you find a way to catch them. I need my peeps on getaway day while I listen and slack off at work by posting here.
Good luck in the job search. I hope we have diplomatic relations with the country that ball lands in.

Thanks. I think I may get an offer this week that will require me to commute downtown again, but a job is a job. So, if that pans out, maybe I can find a way to afford Tiger baseball after all. I think I'll be traveling a lot, so I may need to go back to the internet version. "I don't believe in superstitions. I think they're bad luck." - Andy Van Slyke

Posted October 9th, 2011 06:23 PM IP One thing you could do, is contract the number of topics. I haven't been around here that long, but since there are a conservative number of active posters, I think it dilutes the posts a little bit when there are so many topics. This is something I did on my forum (therealworldforum.com). I have half the users you do, but with only 4 topics, it feels more active. Just a suggestion. I really like the knowledgeable posters here, and sometimes its not easy to find all the new posts. TheRealWorldForum.com

Not a bad thought. Anyone else like the idea?
Example:
Tiger Baseball
* Gameday
* Tigers
* Tickets
Major League Baseball
* Around the Majors
Minor League Baseball
* Around the Minors
Other Sports
* Non Baseball Topics
Off Topic
* (Almost) Anything Goes
* Admin
Other thoughts? Suggestions? Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!
