He's a homer and he's WRONG is half the crap he says, not to mention pearls of wisdom such as, "you have a better chance of scoring two runs or more in an inning following a leadoff homer than a leadoff walk." Are the people who decide these things paying any attention or do they have to just give it to somebody and they're running out of somebodies?? How many broadcasters in the post-Ernie generation were jocks, and barely competent in the booth? (Another 60s era catcher comes to mind.)
