Posted August 21st, 2011 10:25 AM IP I have been hearing it all night/morning on facebook and text messages from my family whom know my feelings on #15. But I am quick to point out, its just one game. If he fixed his swing (not likely) then its all good for the Tigers, but I think I know how this will end.

Posted August 21st, 2011 11:27 AM IP This hits the nail on the head, Blade, and is the problem with casual fans who get excited about highlights rather than watching regularly.
His dinger yesterday overshadowed a great outing by Fister (much more important for our playoff chances), amazing 14 games in a row caught by Avila (who was on base 5 times and is hitting over .450 in August) and totally ignores the fact that Inge twice failed to get the runner home from third (the dropped popup doesn't count in his favor). It was nice that he hit a dinger, but his solo shot wasn't the difference in this game.
His "big" game will keep defenders around for a month, and him in the lineup regularly through 2012. He's always had big streaks...and no one has any problem with him when he produces...the problem is that he plays every day even when he's horrible, such as the first 5 months (!!) of this season. Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!

I ****ing hate Brandon Inge. I hope we have diplomatic relations with the country that ball lands in.

I was at the game (arrived late just after his homer) and people were cheering for him in his next at bat. I booed. [img=http://files.sharenator.com/kermit_weed_gif_Kermit_the_Frog-s320x240-93065-580.gif[/img]

You know, we were talking about this last night...if he truly was the "team player" he claims to be, he should be in Leyland's office asking to help out here...give Avila a break..."anything to help the team."
As it is, nothing. He wants to start at third. Period.
Selfish, selfish, selfish.
At least Leyland is sticking to his word, so far, in using him only against lefties and for defense, which is not a bad role for him and should have been his entire career. Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!

Posted October 13th, 2011 12:25 PM IP All yes, even though Delmon, Miggy & VMart have all had huge dingers in the playoffs, and Betimit (2x), Boesch, Santiago & Cabrera all had huge walk off hits or homers in September, Brandon deserves an entire defense article, because his "proves" all the critics wrong:
http://www.freep.com/article/201110...ilences-critics
* sigh *
Great swing and a much needed homer...as for the "curtain call," this is laughable as HE did it on his own nearly immediately after entering the dugout...not because fans were chanting for it.
And it proves nothing. The guy has been a better player - and better contributor - as a part-time player, hitting primarily against lefties. This is the point most of us have been making forever: he is not, and never has been, a major league quality starting third sacker. He's always been better as a utility, platoon guy. Posted January 20th, 2012 03:35 PM IP Oh Boy! It's time for spring training as the annual "Brandon Inge Finally Has if Figured Out" media blitz is on...
He's now the OLDEST position player on the team. He's not getting any better at this point...and "weight gain" in your mid-30's is either Vitamin S or he's getting fat and less athletic.

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/...latooning-Kelly
Gotta hand it to the guy. He should be in politics. He's on the caravan TALKING TO THE MEDIA and throws out this gem:
Quote: "You can't believe the difference, even this early, in feeling confident. But I don't need to talk. I'm going to show you.
"The best attitude I've ever had." |
Umm...so, he's TALKING about NOT TALKING? And tells us how "great" everything is going to be??
Leyland's rebuttal is spot on:
Quote: "I hope he can play every day at third, because if he is, it means he's producing.
"But he has to produce." |
Hopefully, a good sign that Leyland isn't going to wait 2/3 of the season of playing this idiot every day before he moves on to someone - anyone - else. Eliminating that Yankee odor since 2006!

GAined 20lb in 3 months I hope he is on the juice and fails a test! Then at least we won't have him for 50 games, LOL! What a tool. "I led the league in "Go get 'em next time." - Bob Uecker

Posted January 27th, 2012 08:04 AM IP Once again, BI proves he's nothing more than a selfish, whiny b***h. Regardless of the long-term issues in this deal, the TEAM just became much better and our odds of winning a WS increased....but he only cares that he gets to start:

Posted January 28th, 2012 10:36 PM IP Everyone, I will be the first to admit. On the old site I would argue for Inge. I liked him, but damn this guy irritates the sh_t out of me. I can't remeber a player on any home sports team that I have EVER grown to dislike as this guy. I would never wish harm on anybody, but I wish this guy would at least get a bad case of laryngitis! Brandon, Please shut the hell up and quit being a brat. I have to thank you guys on here for showing me what a d_ck he is! I"ll cheers to that! Quote of the year. Krotchy's release was long overdue. He should have been cut about six years ago, comepletely out of baseball by now, and where he belongs bagging groceries at a Krogers.

I forget who tweeted it, but I saw it on Twitter from Heyman or Olney or someone like that. I hope we have diplomatic relations with the country that ball lands in.
