Info for those fellas brave enough to buy for their OHs

M & S Press Release

We all know that it’s tricky to find the right lingerie for that special lady in your life, with the seemingly endless choice of styles and colours on offer - not to mention the daunting prospect of finding the right size!

We've recognised that men need a little bit of a helping hand at Christmas time which is why from the 24th November right up until Christmas Eve, M&S stores over the UK will have specially trained lingerie advisors known as "Stocking Helpers" who will be on hand to advise men on what lingerie to buy for their loved ones. They will be there to offer advice on getting the right fit and style and to make sure there are no "Stocking Shockers" on Christmas Day!!

Look out for the red sashes which will be worn by each Stocking Helper in store!

Soozie’s Top Tips!

For those of you who prefer to shop online for their Christmas gifts, our Head of Lingerie Design, Soozie Jenkinson has some top tips for finding the perfect lingerie gift…

1. Consider her style

If she’s an elegant and sophisticated dresser, look at our Autograph ranges.

If she likes to feel feminine and pretty, look to Per Una, and it she’s a bit of a sassy glam girl, then check out Limited Collection for the latest fashion looks.

2. Make sure you get the right size

Don’t just guess! Raid her lingerie draw, find a bra that she loves and write the size down. You won’t be in her good books for buying lingerie that’s too small, or too big, and she’s much more likely to wear it if it fits well and feels comfortable to wear.

3. Consider a touch of luxury

Every girl loves luxurious lingerie so consider silk lingerie as her special gift. Silk lingerie will be on every woman’s Christmas wish list so treat her to something special that will feel incredibly sensual to wear.

4. If you’re worried about getting her bra size right then consider nightwear or loungewear.

Pyjama dressing and vintage glamour looks are so on trend right now you can’t fail but to get it right. Look to our stylish Autograph range which will guarantee cosy winter nights in cuddling by the fire.

5. Finally, buy for her and not for you and she’ll love you even more!

Yes, red and black lingerie can be extremely sexy, but there’s so much more choice in lingerie and sleepwear today that you can really be sure to chose smoothing that will be loved by you both and won’t end up hiding at the back of her lingerie drawer.

My life was in tatters because of my
obsession with the Okey-Cokey.

But I turned myself around and that's
what it's all about!

i would like the OH to buy stuff like that cos it shows he knows me, my style, my size, my taste etc. at the same time realise it might not be everyday underwear. i.e it be kept for 'evening' wear'

if he got that right (i.e. didn't make me look like a hooker ...in my eyes he'd be a legend.

i feel sorry for fellas when it comes to this sorta stuff....

and if female, will they model your potential purchases for you?
(obv. being young, slim and attractive is a prerequisite!)

You can see it, but not from here!

I'm with Lash on this - it must be difficult for the poor buggers! Well done M & S for trying to help em. I'd take the guide and go elsewhere if I was a bloke though, M & S underwear is sooo overpriced.

Hmm.

'Soozie' should learn to spell. It's drawer, not draw.

Lingerie is not on my ideal christmas present list! Not even if it was really expensive stuff.
I wouldn't mind 'loungewear' though, I like a good pair of pjs.

Whatever fortune brings, don't be afraid of doing things

She put drawer on number 5 though. Inconsistent!
