Posted 5th November 2008 22:17 IP 1. get another job - either one that pays more money or an extra one in the evenings or weekends
2. be more careful with the cash you do have and don't waste it.
3. Go to uni and get a job while you are working. When I was at uni students didn't get taxed on their earnings. Whatever fortune brings, don't be afraid of doing things

Thanks
Number one sounds best right now. I was going to get a job back at the pub to save for Oz but I'm ok now. Just want more money.

Posted 10th November 2008 19:49 IP Have you tried short-selling, Nat?
Small-time commodities trading is also pretty lucrative. Garage roofs are often a good source of lead, which can fetch a pretty penny.
It's surprising what you pick up if you engage in a little totting, too. All you need is a horse and a cart: John or Chard will be able to fill you in on the, you know, modalities.

Posted 15th November 2008 13:53 IP Have you looked at working for AQA? It's always mentioned on the moneysavingexpert type forums and probably has been on here as well, but it has worked well for me. Not easy though and quite addictive.
Let me know if you want more info.

Posted 17th November 2008 16:09 IP If you're after a quick fix, just more part time work but you could develop a writing business, do part-time bookkeeping.
I was going to be a suicide bomber but didn't like the long term career prospects.

I enjoy a glass of red wine each night for its health benefits. The other glasses are for my exceptionally witty comebacks, sarcasm, and flawless dance moves.

Adsense is a marketing scheme run by Google. If you own your own website, you can sign up to the Adsense scheme, and Google will place adverts on your website. You get paid everytime someone clicks on that advert. The amount you get paid, depends on how much that site has paid Google for putting their advert in place.. So the big companies like Tesco, for example, will be able to bid for a higher PPC rate.. (Pay Per Click) to secure their adverts on the most popular sites.
The adverts at the top of this board, are Google Adsense adverts - and that's how Excoboard makes it money, and provides us with a free message board.

Posted 17th February 2012 19:27 IP I would say start a part-time business like dog-walking or barter site. That can perhaps provide the biggest income early on. If you are not entrepreneurial, perhaps becoming a waiter or pawning off stuff (or offering to clean out other people's homes).
