Just not too careful of who gets in the way when he decides to, you know, expectorate.

I can dig that.

Si is indeed a homphone of Cy, as in Twombly.

But perhaps you're looking at this from the wrong angle, Nat. We've no reason to think that Si is anything less than a homophile. Perhaps it's the feelings of Mrs Si's Sapphic friend that are the problem; perhaps she's a heterophobe.

I'm not deeply hurt as such, I just have a dislike for this friend and would rather not have anything to do with them. If the friend feels I'm hostile, then that's fine with me

Yup, this is certainly an option that I've shortlisted.

I don't think that it's been in the house for more than a few days, it was sat among some post which I was shuffling through to check that there were no bills in there which needed sorting out.

The problem is that it will be clear how I found out, and I don't want to implicate the source - even after this time. Her (the source) and OH still work at the same place, so I don't want to cause any hassle between them - it really isn't worth it.

but but but, surely your OH ought to know that her friend snuck to you behind her back? And really, it's the 'source' who's caused all this trouble. If she hadn't told you this wouldn't be happening.

And, I wouldn't keep an invite like that for a few days without telling an OH, I'd tell them the same day.

Where does your wife's loyalties lie?

Tell her you're not going and tell her why - then tell her that to told her that in confidence - and not to tell the source. If your wife confronys the source, I'd look very closely at your marriage.

I'm sure he has alluded to the fact that he and his other half aren't actually married.

But I could be wrong or mixed him up with someone else.

I'm sure he isn't married. They've been living together for a long time, but no rings.

Indeed, I appear to have misunderstood.

Si refers to his OH as, err, his OH, not wife. It seems some of us have presumed!

Apologies.

Just tell your better half that it's her mate and that she should attend alone (if you still dont want to accompany her)

Everyone is talking about the closing ceremony at the Olympics and what was their favourite bit.

I just spoke to Nick Griffin, his favourite bit is today when they all fcuk off back home.

So has your OH officially told you you are going? At least you won't have to shell out a fortune for new outfits if its quite casual.
Still think you ought to tell her, mind.
