1) Do you worry that you won't have children ?
2) Do you worry that your fertility is in decline ?
3) Do you worry that if you never have children you'll have failed as a macho man ? Everyone is talking about the closing ceremony at the Olympics and what was their favourite bit.
I just spoke to Nick Griffin, his favourite bit is today when they all fcuk off back home.

He does.
Go on, have another go. There's one thing worse than a post you don't like, or even don't understand, and that's no post at all.

Yes
3) Do you worry that if you never have children you'll have failed as a woman ?
No, not at all. If I don't have children, then I'll find meaning in my life elsewhere.

Not really, I used to want kids loads, but now, not so much
2) Do you worry that your fertility is in decline ?
I know I'll most likely need help dropping a sprog, if I choose to (another PCOS sufferer here), my Dr. has already offered me IVF if I'm interested. It doesn't worry me though.
3) Do you worry that if you never have children you'll have failed as a woman ?
Nope

2) Do you worry that your fertility is in decline ?
#No, plenty of women these days have kids in their late thirties/early forties so I have plenty of time if I decide to have a family
3) Do you worry that if you never have children you'll have failed as a woman ?
#No but I think my mum may be disappointed if she never has grandchildren

1) Do you worry that you won't have children ? - a bit. I haven't quite decided if I want them yet, so I mainly worry that if I do decide I want them it'll be too late
2) Do you worry that your fertility is in decline ? - well, I'm 32 now and I have PCOS so I would imagine so
3) Do you worry that if you never have children you'll have failed as a woman ? - No, but other people tend to judge a woman who hasn't had children. You either get pity or bitchiness, mainly pity but some people think a woman over 30 who hasn't had children has made some sort of selfish materialistic decision not to have any. |

You think that's still the case? I don't think so, maybe 15-20 years ago, but this thread alone is indicative of the fact that females these days don't view themselves as baby makers first and foremost. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Sorry, haven't had time to read all the other posts on here! But here's my tuppence worth
1 - I do worry about not being able to "afford" to have kids, if you know what I mean. In the sense that I will never be financially stable enough to provide them with a secure and settled upbringing. I'm not worried about luxuries such as holidays or expensive gifts as a priority. But at the moment, I seem to have a lot of "month left at the end of the money" (as was said on another thread in the very distant past) so from that point of view, yes I do worry.
2 - Not at the moment. I'm 26 at the moment and, despite the concerns I've raised above, I still hope to have children by the time I'm 29 which is (I believe) well within the period of greatest fertility.
3 - Hmm. This is an interesting question. If I was unable to have children biologically, I think I would feel very disappointed. But there is always the option to adopt (although I have read that this is can be an incredibly lengthy process) so it won't be the end of the world. Will I have felt like a failure as a woman? I'd like to think not. "Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

It's definitely still the case in my experience.

| It is surprising how many people on such a relatively small board do have it. Mneh, I don't have many symptoms, although some of the wider side-effects (Type II diabetes being the main, as I am a sweet tooth) are worrying.
