And in terms of gratification, Allegra's reaction to my contribution to that particular debate was a joy to behold. But dealing them off the arm like that used to be such fun. Such fun!
And as for This Charming Man, he makes the Saint look self-effacing, doesn't he?

Posted 7th March 2012 21:17 IP I know that blowing your own trumpet is unedifying, but it's really not such a big crime, is it? And this is turning into a thread about solipsists, after all, so if not here, where?
And this is just such jolly useful advice:
"In terms of achievement, you have done extremely well to get so many interviews. In terms of your priorities, getting the job would have been no more than the icing on the cake. In terms of what will impress potential employers, most people that I know are starting to list interviews on their curricula vitae. So in terms of a way forward, you should perhaps consider following suit, especially if your employment record (qua employment record) is a little jejune."

Just for the record,
The poster named Mark was suffering from long term mental illness, yes, a fair few of his postings were emotionally draining to read, but at the end of the day, he never forced and made people read and reply to his posts, and neither does Loulolly.
I think it's morally wrong to take the pee out of people seeking help on here, especially when they're entering in and out of suicidal ideation.
It makes me ponder the Q, do they pick on the weak and the vulnerable in their private and social life? Everyone is talking about the closing ceremony at the Olympics and what was their favourite bit.
I just spoke to Nick Griffin, his favourite bit is today when they all fcuk off back home.

Posted 8th March 2012 08:04 IP Careful with those pronouns, Eugene, lest more literal-minded readers should misinterpret your words.
It's always useful to have somebody brave enough to remind us of truths we'd rather forget, so I value your contribution, John, even though your words don't make comfortable reading for me and my kind. Well, fair cop, and all that.
Actually, I really had forgotten about Mark's illness this time. I wouldn't have known about it at all if you hadn't told me/us about it just before I was going to tear into him for one particularly bovine response to a comment I'd made. So you did a valuable job back then, too.

I knew that it was alan%20carr all along actually. I'm a huge alan%20carr fan.
I was just making conversation.
And you've nothing to feel guilty about, Sh. Just as the mentally ill are used to being taunted and bullied, those of us with general learning disabilities (we would have been described as feebleminded in linguistically harsher times) become inured to being patronized by the 99% of the population whose cognitive capacities exceed our own.

But mentioning suicide cos no one has replied? My life was in tatters because of my
obsession with the Okey-Cokey.
But I turned myself around and that's

I blame the government and media and people for not thinking for themselves. Just read on the news a woman has 40% burns from decanting petrol. Wonder if she was following government advice to stockpile it at home even though no strike date has even been announced.
