Tiger's first tee shot was right on line with the pin. Sank a 10-12 foot putt for birdie.

-1 through 1.

Take a nap at the ball game, catching up on some Z's. Buy me a five hour energy, take a nap with Hernandez and Ken Griffey. Snooze, snooze, snooze 'cause it's boring...if I wake up it is a shame. For it's 3, 4, 5 hours long at the old ball game.

Tee shot on 2 was driver right down the fairway. Second shot found the center of the green from 170. Lagged the third up to the hole and finished it up for par.

-1 through 2.

Paul Lawrie is 3-under through 6 but took an unusual route to get there. Chipped in on 4 and 5 (5 from weeds) before sinking a putt from off the green on 6 for par.

Tee shot on 3 was three wood dead center of the fairway. Second shot missed the green just left from 195. Third shot pitched to less than a foot away after stopping his routine to tell a cameraman that you could hear snapping pictures even through the telecast. Tap in for par.

Tee shot on 4 was dead center of the fairway again. Second shot ended up about 20-25 feet from the hole from 160. Drained the birdie putt.

Tee shot on 5 rolls off the right side of the green. Second shot pitched to about 5 feet or so away. Finishes it up for par.

-2 through 5.....tied with Adam Scott for the lead, albeit early on.

Tiger went with a long iron off the tee on the 490 yard 6th (used to be a par 5, playing as a par 4 now....by far the hardest hole on the course) and it paid off as he found the short grass. Second shot stuck to within 20 feet from 225 yards out. Dead center of the cup for birdie.

-3 through 6 and the sole leader.

That was only the third birdie on the 6th so far today.

Tiger found the fairway on the par 5 7th, 270 yards out. Second shot came up just short and left and ended with a club toss. Third shot was pitched to within a foot and was tapped in for birdie.

Another iron off the tee on 8 found the fairway. Pin high about 15-20 feet or so right of the hole from 175 out. Birdie putt just missed and he tapped in for par.

Tee shot on 9 right on line with the pin, probably about 10 feet or so left for birdie. Missed just right and tapped in for another par.

-4 through 9 holes and out with a 30.....also hit every fairway.

Tee shot on 10 found the fairway, but landed in a pretty deep divot 125 yards from the hole. Second shot ended up about 20 feet or so from the pin. Two-putt for par.

-4 through 10.

Adam Scott is in the lead at -5 through 13.

Tiger went with an iron off the tee on the 600 yard par 5 11th and found the fairway. Second shot was laid up. Third shot pitched to the back of the green past the hole and didn't make the birdie putt coming back. Finished it up for par.

-4 through 11.

Tee shot on the par 3 12th was right at the hole, but caught a bad break and stopped right where it hit instead of trickling up to the hole....has about 10 feet left for birdie. A pretty poor birdie putt, but he finished it up for par.

I don't know if you can fire your caddie mid-round or not, but if you're Tiger Woods, you should be able to do just that. His caddie just cost him any chance he had at winning the Open.

I have no idea what is going on. Scott took three practice swings next to his ball, walked up to the green and while walking back to his ball it moved. Scott wasn't docked a two-stroke penalty, and instead the ball was ruled "in-play" and he was to play it where it was.

The rules analyst in the booth is baffled, as am I.

Just now finishing up watching today's coverage.

OMG at the BBC chick who actually asked Adam Scott "a run of 3 bogeys didn't help you at all, did it?" Props to him for keeping cool and professional.

Congrats to Ernie. Quite an accomplishment to have won majors in 3 different decades and to have won each of the opens twice.

So now we have 16 different champions in the past 16 majors.
