Posted July 2nd, 2012 08:32 PM IP Weaver has morphed into a junk ball pitcher. He has sick control though.
Ubaldo has been great though. If he doesn't hit the lead off batter in the fifth this is still probably a scoreless game. Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

I went to a Crusher game. Nice little stadium. Game was not very entertaining though.
Our entertainment came after a few beers and inexplicably screaming players numbers as they walked by us.

Posted July 2nd, 2012 09:58 PM IP I fear that the offensive explosion in Baltimore and beating three lefties could hurt this team at the deadline. Antonetti seems pretty content with the current roster and that they can contend. And how they scored runs this past weekend I'm sure doesn't discourage his theory.
Really though I do agree that they can contend. But not because they are super talented. They have some nice players but the bottom of the order is brutal. But because the division is so weak. Realistically they could be able to stay within a few games the majority of the summer. But they HAVE to bring in someone with a track record if they want to be playing past game #162.

Posted July 2nd, 2012 10:09 PM IP in all honesty, i don't see this team as a contender in the second half of the season. Why?... because you're going to see the Tigers and Sox and few of these other teams make moves to improve, while the Tribe sits back, does nothing, and watches the parade pass them by...

I mean I really hope what happened this weekend doesn't get to his head.
But I am just so blown away at how NOT concerned he comes across whenever someone asks him about it.
But I mean bases loaded, no outs. I don't care what part of the lineup is up, and you can't hit two balls to the outfield and manufacture two runs? Really? Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

Posted July 2nd, 2012 10:36 PM IP Antonetti should be fired anyways. This organization has more problems than what we think. They can't sign a free=agent that's worth a sh**, can't sign their own free=agents that's worth a sh**,can't make a trade because our minor league system is bare. I'm wondering now if it's time to blow up the whole organization again, trade what players we have that have value and start re-stocking our farm system again. Sounds horrible, but this team is'nt going to get any better than what it is now...

Posted July 2nd, 2012 10:41 PM IP Well the issues of not signing free agents is kind of their own fault. Josh Willingham went to Minnesota because Cleveland wouldn't offer a third year. They could have solved the long standing left field problem for years to come. So that is on them.
Carlos Pena took less money to go back to Tampa for a better chance to win. Not that he would have been the savior, but at least he's a guy who can change the game with one swing of the bat.
And by all accounts the Indians offered Carlos Beltran a very similar contract that St.Louis did. But again, it was the case of a guy wanting a better chance to win immediately. Which I can't say that I blame. Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

Willingham would be great, even Francoeur would be awesome at this point. WARNING: LITHIUM NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON CREDIT

Posted July 2nd, 2012 11:03 PM IP Can't remember the last time I saw an all-star shortstop in all my years of playing ball, whether it be little league, high school, juco, D3, D2, D1, minor league, or Norwalk men's softball, after the first two guys get base hits (down 3-0) swing at the first pitch and jog into a 6-4-3.
$8 million well spent. Kipnis is the all-star. Not that self-indulged and pretentious ******* that roams between 2nd and 3rd defensively.
