Posted June 6th, 2012 11:29 PM IP their fielding is so bad, Cleveland matches up really well with them because of it
we draw walks and run the bases well anyway, the extra couple baserunners the Tiger's statuesque defense gives us over the course of a 9-inning game is a big advantage WARNING: LITHIUM NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON CREDIT

Posted June 7th, 2012 01:23 AM IP Brantley always was the only player out of the 2 ace trades that had the ability (at least now) to make one of the deals not look horriffic.
CC trade wasn't as brutal as Lee, CC was the hell out of here regardless in a few months at the time. Lee had another year & 1/2 left. Ugh.
No wonder the 'relationship' for trades between Philly & the Tribe has cooled. Phils gave us damaged goods in Knapp.

Top five
1. Dec. 6, 1989: Indians acquired Sandy Alomar Jr., Carlos Baerga and Chris James from San Diego for Joe Carter. Comment: The deal that started it all.
2. Dec. 10, 1991: Indians acquire Kenny Lofton and Dave Rohde from Houston for Willie Blair and Ed Taubensee. Comment: There is still a warrant for John Hart's arrest for grand larceny in Houston.
3. Dec. 10, 1993: Indians acquire Omar Vizquel from Seattle for Felix Fermin and Reggie Jefferson. Comment: Why do the Mariners keep trading with the Tribe?
4. June 27, 2002: Indians acquire Brandon Phillips, Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Lee Stevens for Bartolo Colon and Tim Drew. Comment: Indians hit the trifecta.
5. July 26, 2006: Indians acquire Shin-Soo Choo and Scott Nottingham from Seattle for Ben Broussard and cash. Comment: When in doubt, call the Mariners.
Bottom five
1. April 17, 2006: Indians send Brandon Phillips to Cincinnati for Jeff Stevens. Comment: Franchise changer.
2. July 7, 2008: Indians trade CC Sabathia to Milwaukee for Matt LaPorta, Michael Brantley, Rob Bryson and Zach Jackson. Comment: Needed more. Sabathia 70-25 since trade.
3. Nov. 18, 1998: Indians send Brian Giles to Pittsburgh for Ricardo Rincon. Comment: Never trade a power-hitting everyday outfielder for a situational lefty, a bad one at that.
4. March 25, 1989: Indians send Jay Bell to Pittsburgh for Felix Fermin and Denny Gonzalez. Comment: They didn't think Bell could play shortstop. Wrong.
5. July 29, 2009: Indians send Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco to Philadelphia for Jason Knapp, Carlos Carrasco, Jason Donald and Lou Marson. Comment: The longer you look at this trade, the worse it gets. "If you respect me by not picking up the option, I'll show trust and loyalty to you by signing with you."-Carlos Boozer

Posted June 7th, 2012 07:20 PM IP Disappointing outing for Lowe today, but still nice to take 2 of 3 up there.
And Brantley has now hit in 15 straight games

Posted June 7th, 2012 09:00 PM IP Was at game today. We were sitting in the upper deck behind home plate beneath the speakers. Sound was muffled and couldn't hear much of anything. Cups from last nights game were still in seat holders. Never show replays on the scoreboard - not even Cabrera's home run. Even the 2 Tiger fans I was with were disappointed. Doubt I go back there for any games.

GO TIGERS!

The only one you could maybe sub out on that Top 5 for Cabrera is the last one, also with Seattle recently and the Choo deal.
Not that Cabrera wasn't highway robbery, but in the big picture those other four trades were bigger/better. Maybe Cabrera changes that thinking some more in a few years. Posted June 9th, 2012 04:12 PM IP Tribe got it done but it was sub.500 Detroit so not much to think about. They've only won the AL Central one more time than KC--who has zero.
That's why I'm bbmind.
Coach Tressel went 9-1 vs. Michigan and won a NC. Thanks for the great run.
