Posted June 3rd, 2012 06:31 PM IP At least they won't face Verlander even though it won't matter. Will they win the first and then lose the next two? That's been the pattern lately.

Posted June 3rd, 2012 08:28 PM IP Actually, the three pitching this upcoming series for Detroit have done better lately than Verlander over his last three games. Barack Hussein Obama: living proof that anyone can become President of the United States.

Posted June 3rd, 2012 08:39 PM IP Talk about a blah slate of pitching match ups for the two teams that were suppose to sit atop this division.
They all are so neutral that I could see either team sweeping. Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

Posted June 3rd, 2012 09:51 PM IP Good news for Detroit they don't have to pitch Verlander against the Tribe. What is he 5 and 4? Give a pitcher the MVP and a dumb commercial and they fall apart. Pitching for a team that has only 1 more AL Central title than KC who has zero can't be easy. That's why I'm bbmind.
Coach Tressel went 9-1 vs. Michigan and won a NC. Thanks for the great run.

Posted June 4th, 2012 03:12 PM IP the draft starts today and for all the complaints about the Dolans and not spending money on free agents the Indians biggest failure since John Hart stepped down is their innability to draft and develope major league players. of the Indians current roster Petsano, Sipp, Raffy Perez, Gomez, Kipinis, Tomlin, Barnes and Chisenhall are the players they draft/signed and developed all the way through the monors. of that group Chisenhall is the only 1st rd guy and he just got called up and it unproven....Sipp couldn't get me out..Barnes is yet to prove himself....Tomlin, Pestano, and Gomez seem ok but nothing special, Perez was inconsistant and now hurt...really at this point Kipnis is the only guy who seems to have a lot of potential but we shall see what Chisenhall becomes
since Shapiro took over as GM in 01 and now into the Antonetti years the Indians 1st rd picks
Dan Dehnam
Allan Horne
JD Martin
Mike Conroy
Jeremy Guthrie
Matt Whitney
Micah Schilling
Michael Aubrey
Brad Snyder
Adam Miller
Jeremy Sowers
Trevor Crowe
John Drennan
David Huff
Beau Mills
Lonnie Chisenhall
Alex White
Drew Pomeranz
Francisco Lindor
a small market organization like the Indians must do a better job of drafting and developing it's own players if they want to stay competitive...it is sad how bad they have been I think we found Kyrie Irving

..even the 5-4 Verlander is better than anything the tribe has at this point.

Looks good on paper...
...but he throws from the left handed position. So it probably isn't. Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

I would be amazed if the Indians win even one. I can see them being swept. There is no spark, no pride in at one time being in first space.

Posted June 5th, 2012 09:03 PM IP He has control of all his pitches.
Down 3-1 and comes back to strike out Laird. That is something we haven't saw all season.
Finish the 7th and turn it over to Pestano and Perez. Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

Posted June 5th, 2012 09:07 PM IP I was listening to the radio and someone mentioned that he has this weird hitch in his delivery where he takes his glove to his face as soon as he releases the pitch as if he might be afraid to get line drived by a hit ball.
I wonder if this holds some truth and why he struggles the way he does. I cannot believe a guy can be so dominate at a young age and then all of a sudden just be awful.

Posted June 5th, 2012 09:11 PM IP There was talk that some inside the organization thought he may have been tipping his pitches.
I didn't really see anything different in terms of release point or basic mechanics, but he was much more fluid tonight and didn't overthrow like he has a tendency to.

Posted June 5th, 2012 09:27 PM IP He eliminated the walks which is what helped him out big time. Love that.
He also fired a lot of fastballs and mixed in the off speed stuff occasionally. Fantastic start.
