Posted November 15th, 2011 07:36 PM IP Verlander won the Cy Young today, good thing it's a regular season award after his October.
Hellickson and Kimbrel won Rookie of the Year for AL and NL.
Managers of the Year tomorrow and NL Cy Young on Thursday which will be Kershaw from LA. That's why I'm bbmind.
Coach Tressel went 9-1 vs. Michigan and won a NC. Thanks for the great run.

Must be jealousy, since the TIGERS had more October than the White Sox or Indians did. Barack Hussein Obama: living proof that anyone can become President of the United States.

Posted November 21st, 2011 02:07 PM IP Detroit's Justin Verlander has become the first starting pitcher in a quarter-century to win a Most Valuable Player award, adding it to his Cy Young Award last week.
Verlander earned the American League MVP honor Monday, receiving 13 of 28 first-place votes and 280 points in voting announced by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Boston center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury was second with 242 points, followed by Toronto right fielder Jose Bautista with 231 points.

Posted November 21st, 2011 02:24 PM IP I have to say I agree with this.
Detroit did catch on fire but before that outside of Verlander they were just a .500 team.
Kind of sad no one else in the AL was capable of being the MVP...

I think that is the only reason he won the award

Posted November 22nd, 2011 07:56 PM IP I wonder who started a thread about Ryan Braun before he ever played a game in the majors? If you also wonder, check the archives.
The only year this guy hasn't been in the AS game he was the Rookie of the Year. That's why I'm bbmind.

Please show me the post where I crowned the Indians. Would love to see that. Cleveland or Chicago will win the division. That's why I'm bbmind.

Read the thread my opinion has never changed. Cleveland or Chicago. There are only 3 teams that have proven capable to win the AL Central and the Twins don't have that ability this yeare so it appears to be down to 2 teams. That's why I'm bbmind.

This might be the game that defines the division...TIGERS come from 8-1 down in the fifth inning to win on Cabrera's ninth inning homer (following a Jackson triple and Raburn game-tying shot) 9-8, building the lead to 7 1/2 games over the White Sox. After Verlander's gem on Friday night, Brad Penny pitched the way he has been lately (although, admittedly, with some bad defense and possibly two blown calls in the fourth), but the relief corps was superb in keeping the Sox off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Record now 77-62, trying for a series sweep on Sunday with Scherzer going against Buehrle.

I don't think Tigers fans or those that like them from Ohio want any part of the Yankees in Round 1. We will see how the last few games shake out. That's why I'm bbmind.

Posted December 3rd, 2011 03:36 PM IP Kemp didn't deserve the award, the Dodgers didn't do good this year. They could have not done good without Kemp.
Without Braun the Brewers don't win the Division or get to the playoffs or make the NLCS, etc, etc.
Good year for Kemp not an MVP year. That's why I'm bbmind.

Posted December 3rd, 2011 05:54 PM IP I didn't have to go through 18,000 posts--just those made since June in reference on the Tigers' thread. And, for someone who loves to emphasize prior history as the determining factor in sports, you would have done well to remember that Detroit beat New York in the first round of the 2006 playoffs before making your statement prior to this season's series. The Yankees still have not won a postseason series against Detroit. Barack Hussein Obama: living proof that anyone can become President of the United States.

If that's the case, Kerkshaw shouldn't been in line to win Cy Young.
The fact the Dodgers went 83-78 with the season they had was miraculous. 2012 Stanley Cup Champions!
