If this holds, next weekend is going to be pretty cool.

Reds sweep the Cards.
Win 4th series in a row.
Stubbs working out okay as leadoff hitter.
Janish batting 2nd I'm not too crazy about.

Posted May 16th, 2011 03:19 PM IP I agree 100%. Why in the world would Dusty put the worst offensive player (other than gomes) in the 2 hole? Why not someone like hanigan who is a good contact hitter and seems to be clutch with runners on? CASE and POINT

Posted May 16th, 2011 03:59 PM IP Glad to see someone agrees with me about Janish. I am baffled as to why he isn't batting 7th or 8th.
Speaking of Hanigan...the Hanigan/Hernandez combo at catcher has been tremendous. "Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education."

And Homer Bailey with 3 quality starts in a row.
Could he finally be getting consistent and be the pitcher the Reds(and I) expected? "Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education."

Posted May 17th, 2011 01:14 AM IP The weekend series in Cleveland is going to be a GREAT one.
A matchup of maybe the two best teams in baseball.
Big crowds expected for all three games.
I'm pulling for the Reds en way to another strong season for an Ohio team, but not this weekend! Give a man a fish, he eats for a night. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

Posted May 17th, 2011 10:48 PM IP Reds take both in the mini-series against the Cubs.
Reds win 7-5 benefiting from Cubs errors for 5 unearned runs
The Pirates come to town for games on Wed. & Thurs.
Then comes a tough 10 game road trip.
3 in Cleveland(should be 26-13 shortly)
4 in Philly(25-15)
3 in Atlanta(25-19)

After winning 5 straight the Reds have now lost 5 straight, the last 3 to the streaking Indians.
Next is 4 in Phillie, then 3 in Atlanta.
GULP!!!!
Gotta avoid future sweeps.

Posted May 26th, 2011 01:29 AM IP I started watching the Reds game in the 14th inning since there was nothing much else on.
Philadelphia won it 5-4 in 19. Their winning pitcher was their 2nd baseman, who came into the game after their last bullpen guy was done and pitched a hitless 19th that included getting Votto and Bruce to fly out. The Reds for some reason did not use either of 2 guys left in their pen, but rather let a kid who was pitching for Louisville on Monday stay in the game when he was clearly out of gas after being out there for 5 innings and 90+ pitches, and he got the L.

Arroyo got shelled.

Posted May 29th, 2011 02:33 AM IP Hurts losing Homer Bailey to the DL...
The Reds bullpen has been logging some major innings the last few games..
I wasn't high on Cincy overall at the start of the season, but I figured they'd be able to contend for the Central. I don't see that changing unless St Louis just goes on a major run.

Coach Tressel went 9-1 vs. Michigan and won a NC. Thanks for the great run.

Remember in Week 1 in Football after the loss you were still calling 9-1 possible (how did that work out)? That's why I'm bbmind.

All your predictions or forcasts have a so called "margin of error", that way you can go back and retract what you said, and make it sound like you never said it.....i give you credit though, nobody does it any better...
