Which athletes will lead the conference? Which School will lead the conference? It's projected to be between Sandusky and Shelby...right?

Are we talking boys or girls? If boys almost all of the teams lost a bulk of their roster from last year. I don't think any one team is going to run away with it, but Sandusky seems to be the favorite. Sandusky should dominate the sprints. As for distance events it should be a battle between Norwalk and Columbian (based on xc). Field events could be picked apart by anyone.

1. Sandusky
2. Columbian
3. Norwalk (could flip with Shelby)
3. Shelby (could flip with Norwalk)
5. Bellevue
6. Willard

Sandusky - Sprints, relays and field events should be strong enough to carry the Streaks to the title.
Bellevue - Should have enough to hold off the balance of the NOL.
Norwalk - should have enough depth to get 3rd (hoping for better)
Shelby - history and young talent and depth should help
Columbian - distance carry them further up the ladder
Willard - loss of Craven (transfer) really hurts

As for individuals the Sparks, Poggali 800 should be something else, the relays should be fun as always and the long jump should be really solid. Norwalk should have some frosh make some noise and Bellevue's hopes are on their field events. Distance should be very solid with TC, Norwalk and Shelby. Only a couple of months away....

Sandusky did very well at the Shelby Invite last year (or was it the Shelby Relays? I can't remember for crap, I only ran the 4x8 so its a toss up...).

Either way, Shelby certainly isn't going to be whoopin' on teams by 100 points at dual meets this year.

As far as distance, Labarge is the only graduating impact senior who was useful in the 800. The 4x8 team loses some oomph but it certainly was never a strategic race for our coach to take advantage of...and who's to say no one steps up for that race this year?

Distance will be fine, they won't be bad. As far as a league meet goes? I don't see too much NOL class performances at the present moment.

Shelby sprints...they will have enough to steal some good places in certain events. The hurdling takes a step back, as does the relays probably.

Throwing? Huge amounts of points from last year are lost there. I don't see it being a strong suit.

Overall...Shelby shouldn't be placing lower than 4th in the league meet one would hope...that is just too uncharacteristic.

Well I know there's a kid from bellevue that looked really fast on the football field that runs depending on his events he'll be a tough one. There are a pair of seniors from sandusky that throw that will be toward the top of the rankings Michael Brown and Anthony Jones. In discus it'll be a close one between Donald Eastman from Norwalk and Jones from sandusky. And sorry I meant the boys side of track.

Sparks and Poggali maybe the best 800 battle the NOL has seen in some time two kids who have both gone 1:58ish head to head this season.

The 100 & 200 are a whole different world with Sandusky in the NOL. The top returning runners in each were from Sandusky. The 200 was weak last season even including returnees from Sandusky look for several younger runners to make their mark. The 400 is similar as the NOL champ Wilson (52.34h) returns however beyond that there is 7 runners (3 of which were frosh) between 53.11-55.66 should be wide open.

Green did go to state last year as a freshman I believe, but it will be nice to have some competition, because she didn't get much from around the area last year.

PR's for both in the 100 and 200. Green- 12.34 and 27.82 for Music 12.67 and 26.31 so it should be fun to see these two go at it for the next few years

Looking at milesplit Green actually made it to state in the 400 running 58 mid so her 200 time could be a lot better than her PR if she ran that. interesting that she runs 100/400 combo rather than 100/200. However college coaches will like it.

Returning NOL and D2 STATE champion in the PV Matt Rowland-B went 16-0" this weekend for a PR by 6" and 15" higher than he went last spring. His effort was 4" away from the D2 STATE record. Should be a couple of memorable seasons for the Bellevue junior...
