Posted June 3rd, 2011 11:30 AM IP Admittedley, I am only interested in a few events, but thought it was worth posting the website... Real time results are available on Baumspage, which is linked above, but even easier here below by division.
DIV 1
DIV 2
DIV 3
Of interest to me and thus far, D2 Shot put is done. The Waverly sophomore gets 2nd in the state with a 59' throw...He'll be a force for two more years, and Mittman tosses 54-09.50, for 6th place. Not his best toss of the season, but still quite a nice one.
Go ahead...feel free to revel in it and discuss. Political Correctness - the belief that one can pick up a turd by the clean end.

Posted June 3rd, 2011 08:26 PM IP This is humorous to me as well.... It's early in the scoring, but currrently, little tiny Lucas HS from the NCC, is leading the scoring at state. They only have two participants, but both have placed. Below:
1) Lucas 12 2) Gahanna Columbus Academy 10
2) McDonald 10 2) Fremont St. Joseph C.C. 10
5) Garfield Hts. Trinity 8 5) Ottoville 8
5) New Midd. Springfield 8 8) Sycamore Mohawk 6
9) Georgetown 5 9) Barnesville 5
9) Woodsfield Monroe Central 5 12) St. Henry 4
12) Minster 4 12) Fort Loramie 4
12) McComb 4 16) Pandora-Gilboa 3
17) Tiffin Calvert 2 17) Cedarville 2
17) Russia 2 17) Newcomerstown 2
17) Spencerville 2 22) East Canton 1

This scoring can't be right. Reardon from Fremont St. Joseph won the high jump (10 points) and was 6th in the long jump (3 points) so that gives SJCC 13 total points thus far. "When all is said and done, there is usually more said than done."

Did you see Woodridge's 4x800 time in D2? A sick 7:37.43. All Time, All Division, State Record by more than 2 seconds!
They weren't really even pushed, they won by more than 10 seconds.

I'm sure you are right, but at that moment in time last night, that's what it said. I only pointed it out becuase I know that Lucas is on par with a place like Cory-Rawson when talking about numbers.. Even if they were second at that point, it's still astounding that they were in that position with only two athletes and neither winning their event.
Figured it out...it said after three events scored just above the scoring. Their athletes were a shotputter and high jumper (I think.) The long jump hadn't been completed at this point in the scoring.

Posted June 4th, 2011 04:25 PM IP Ouch...D1 AJ Hicks from Solon tosses 64 and change in the shot at regionals to win, but gets to the state meet and can't get past 54' and doesn't place. Winning toss was 64'6" I think, so Hicks should have been right in the thick of it. Kids a senior, so that has to be a brutal ending to his shot put career. On the plus side, his discus seed is at 181' and change. He has a chance to recover or potentially win it. Political Correctness - the belief that one can pick up a turd by the clean end.

The crazy part is that I don't believe they won their district or regional!!! SVSM had them beat by seconds both meets. Two very very fast teams.

Good Lord...and win the discuss Hicks did. He was in 2nd place in the finals at 187 and change, then on his final throw, he launched the discus 200"7". That is redemption in my book for his shot put performance and one hell of a throw. Damn!!! According to the seed distances, he would have been third or fourth.
On another high note for the area folks, the Ballenger kid from Ross got 5th with about 171, and he is just a frosh. If he gains like most kids do through HS, he could end up with a state record before it's all over. And a couple of state championships. Political Correctness - the belief that one can pick up a turd by the clean end.

Congrats to him!
He is the 17th Bellevue athlete to win an individual state title (9th in track and field), and his banner will be the 22nd state title banner on the wall in the gym.

Posted June 20th, 2011 01:18 AM IP I don't know about that, Jacob Blankenship from Gahanna Lincoln has made quite a statement these last few weeks. He won over both Uhle brothers and went 17-0 at the state meet. He just won New Balance Nationals as well with a PR of 17-0 3/4. However if you are talking just D2, then he might have a shot. Blankenship will be a senior.
