6:00 on ESPN

Big game in the standings. We have a chance to get a 2 game lead in the L column over MSU, UM and UW. That would be a nice cushion to have since we still have to travel to both MI schools and we only have 2 home dates in the final 6 games. If we lose we fall back into a tie with MSU and things get a lot tighter.

I'm curious, do you guys think Matta will go big with Ravenel more often than normal? Or will he play Thomas at the 4 and force us to put Green on him? As a state fan I think I would prefer the former.

I cannot believe Digger just picked MSU...

Why does that surprise you? Most of the talking heads on ESPN have a serious crush on Izzo.

Deservedly so, but

Digger is easily the biggest MSU hater around...stems from his coaching days...The year we played UNC in the finals (2009) he picked against MSU in all of our tourney games except Robert Morris.

He is just extremely high on Green, the only reason I can fathom his pick.

39 game home win streak vs a 3 game road losing streak!

Not saying it can't or won't happen but I just think Ohio State is an all around better team.

Sully could really help himself if he would develope a 15 foot shot instead of bulldozing in for layups.. at his size,, his style is not going to make it in the NBA .. thats why i dont believe he would be instant success in the NBA... he has alot of his game that needs to improve on offense.

Any one else have a terrible feed during this game?

Didn't see the game, but just checked the box score. Gotta get some production from someone. Would've loved to have seen a couple other guys get minutes for Buford or Thomas if they couldn't score.

How's this for a foul, though?

From the very beginning of this game Sparty wanted it more. Neither team played particularly well but MSU was more physical and did more than Ohio State did to earn the win. No one could shoot well today and Sullinger needs to quit whining all the time and just play basketball. I'm getting tired of his act lately as everytime he gets bumped he's more worried about trying draw the foul than just going strong to the hole. He's not a great leaper and teams are getting him to force up horrible shots when he should be passing off.
This loss didn't surprise me much.......been playing kind of flat lately.

Right here... and don't even try to single out Buford. Everyone played terrible today. Sullinger had a triple double with 10 TURNOVERS, Deshaun and Smith didn't play well at all, no production from the bench.

I understood singling him out in the Kentucky game last year, but to do so today is drinking haterade.

i didn't say a thing about Buford, i asked where all his backers were after another 2-12 performance

i mean, to expect a Senior to come up big when Freshmen and Sophomores are struggling is totally unfair, you are right to defend him

Sullinger will never make it in the NBA. He can't get off the floor. MSU embarrassed him. He won't even be the Big Ten player of the year this year. I'd rather have the big kid from Illinois or Payne. The word is around the Big Ten officials, they DO NOT like floppers He weights 270 and has flopped on the floor 10 times more than any other Big Ten player.

I simply saw a lack of shot production. Granted, I didn't get to see it from home, so I wasn't as attentive, but it seemed like the Bucks couldn't buy a bucket.

This just isn't a final four team.
Way too inconsistent....something that will bite you in the *** in a single elimination tourney.

The performance tonight you just saw will be repeated in March, tick tock tick tock.

Matta = John Cooper

At least we'll keep recruiting sweet players, it's better than nothing.

I agree.

As for Someone saying they would rather have Leonard Meyers and Adrian Payne....

I have to laugh at you...Payne had his 1 great game, unfortunately it was yesterday. Payne only AVG's like 7 points a game.

Sullinger is a walking Double-Double every night.

Thad Matta just got out coached, period.

Outhustled IMO. MSU was hungry and they attacked and Ohio State had no answers. XSparty hit it on the head -- you cannot have long and extended periods throughout games where you just don't score and thats been something that Ohio State has encountered alot of under Matta. Granted, I understand the game of basketball is about "runs" but when you have those extended spurts without scoring against good teams you're doomed.
Sullinger is not helping his own cause. When you're 6'9 and have a poor ability to get off the floor....you cannot be backing down your man and trying to shoot over him - especially when being double teamed as you make your move! He's GOT to start giving up the ball. You guys talk about Buford not passing the ball but yet I see him giving up alot more shots this year but yet Sullinger FORCES up all kinds of garbage inside the key.

On a previous thread, I discussed that I thought we were bad when Sullinger became a black hole. Did anyone notice that last night? Was he forcing shots/not passing out of the double? That's about the only reasonable explanation I have for his 10 TOs. We're a terrible team when he doesn't make a pass. He's as important as a point guard in many similar ways.

As an outsider I've been shocked at Sullinger's attitude lately. As a freshman he played with something to prove, and now he plays like he's entitled to something. So much arguing of calls, trying to bully his opponent, not feeling the need to get back on defense, etc. He's killed his draft stock imo.

That kid gets hammered more than anyone in NCAA Hoops, he has every right to bitch, IMO. He has to just remain calm though and go play, he is obviously not going to get the calls on his end of the floor, nothing he can do about it.

not going to win many games shooting 26% from the field that is the WORST fg percentage ohio state has ever shot and they only lost by 10 i really wish Buford would show up and take some charge of the team instead of taking a back seat to Sully his the senior he needs to lead the team and take control....

I don't know about the senior taking charge but it is about time the head coach takes charge. Thomas taking poor shots and lack of defense, Sullinger forcing everything and feeling picked on, Craft playing defense but must stretch the defense more with shots and everyone becoming more intense.
Often looks as if there should be more balls to go around when so many shots are forced. Am I saying as a team they look out of control?
Forgot! When Craft is called for a foul look to where his arms and hands go. Out to the side with an "I don't understand" look on his face. Sully is not the only one who feels singled out.
Coach should start chewing some butt and say play or sit.
