I'm assuming this is at Ashland U? Just confirming.

Thanks.

No. This is at Ashland High School's Community Stadium. The new AU stadium has not put in a bid to host playoff games...yet.

I am planning on going to this one, anyone else?

Everyone knows that Genoa has completely dominated every game this year but most games have been against weak opponents. Orrville is not a weak opponent, has a huge tradition, and word is they have a tough, hard hitting defense. It will be interesting to me to see if that defense can stop Genoa. My prediction is that Orrville will score on Genoa but will get wore down by that relentless wing-t offense resulting in a 35 - 21 Genoa win.

^Well, a couple of NOL teams are in the same playoff region as these two schools, and Genoa and Orrville aren't too far away from NOL territory, so why not!? LOL It's something to talk about

this topic would have made more sense in this forum: http://excoboard.com/exco/forum.php?forumid=79147

though, I think giff put it here because this is a much higher traffic forum and he wanted to see his question answered quickly

Go Redmen, Buckeyes, Browns, Indians, Cavaliers and Blue Jackets...and Crew and Gladiators
Eff the Wolverines, Nittany Lions, SEC, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Tigers, White Sox, Yankees, Red Sox, Pistons, Lakers, Celtics, Red Wings and Penguins

If you don't care then why post on this thread? What NOL teams are still in the play-off's? Like nsp said these teams are in the same region as several NOL teams. Many people are fans of high school football and continue to follow local teams in the play-off's but evidently that is too much for you to comprehend..

Some people are just idiots. Exactly right --- I posted it here because I needed an answer and the other forum didn't even have the game posted!

Thanks for the answer Blodg! I'm gonna head over to the game just because I like to see good HS football. Would like to see Orrville get the upset... but it will take a tremendous effort.

Shoot me a text if ya want to meet up... 419-631-6380.

^^^^ Exactly!!!!

Mighty Mighty Genoa - Vogel's all world team goes down to a solid Orrville team. What a game.

#30 for Genoa was a one man show.

1. Never seen so much cockiness exuding from a team before kickoff. They were literally doing the slice the throat move, grabbing the balls like "suck these nuts" moves.... just about everything. I'll give them an A+ for expecting to go out and beat the opponent.... but they quickly found out through some brutal hits from Orrville that they were in for a Looooong game!

2. Orrville is up by 2 TD's with 7 minutes in the 4th quarter.... Genoa scores, kicks off and Orrville fumbles the kickoff and the guy stands there and watches the ball... Genoa grabs it and runs it in for a TD! Then they miss the PAT!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Then Genoa stops Orrville, gets the ball back with about 3:30 left at their 35 and proceeds to literally take 3 minutes and 20 seconds to move the ball 20 yards. WTF? Wow. Prior to halftime they moved the ball very effectively passing the ball with short 7-10 yard routes and going out of bounds. Totally didn't get the play calling on that last drive.

Regardless. Just goes to show that stats, records don't mean everything. Just as I said the last four weeks. I was smart enough to try and show Vogel that Genoa hadn't played anyone and the teams with winning records that they beat hadn't beaten anyone either... but he chose to ride that wagon and belittle Galion. When in fact no one from Galion said squat about Galion doing anything in the playoffs.

Vogel rankings - worthless.
Common sense - priceless.

Nice game Orrville and much respect to Genoa and especially #30 for literally slugging it out for all 4 quarters. The NOL teams could have and should have watched this game and learned what it takes to play at the next level. No dish - just reality. You want to win Regional championships and be a state caliber team, you better SPRINT on kickoffs, you better keep your head UP when you get down... no matter if it's 3 TD's..... Genoa was down by 3 TD's in the 3rd quarter and kept fighting. How many NOL teams would have done that? When you get down, you have to keep fighting and keep playing the game and believe you can win. I'll give Genoa all the props in the world for that department! Never Quit, Never Die!

I'll agree to that! Hard to have to prepare to play 4 full playoff quarters when you haven't had to do it all year long.

Genoa was just an overhyped team with an annoying fan base. Those people were predicting a State Championship a year ago after losing to Kettering Alter. Add a few top notch non-conference games and that may help you in weeks 11-15.

Genoa is a good football team but they have been exposed the last two seasons when playing a top notch offense.

Yeah their crowd is quite rowdy over on da huddle.

I'll say this... any time that your last name is bigger than the school name on the back of your varsity coat... there may be a slight problem with priorities. Anyone else notice that with the Genoa V coats?
