This year we only had 22 votes (over 50% were Galion fans). Seemed like a lot of people got scared to vote after watching Galion people attack every poster that didn't vote how they wanted them too.

Side note, sorry Rich Ulmer but your Galion fans (it's their fault) have taken away your DPOY honors from last year. It's only Galion fans that think this, all the other fans disagree but they think since Galion went (5-5) last year that you are not allowed to win a POY.

I voted for you last year Ulmer. I thought you were deserving of the POY honors even though Galion was (5-5). But Galion people tell me players on (5-5) teams are not allowed to win the award sorry. You are still the DPOY in my book, but YOUR OWN FANS have taken that award away from you. Sad.

Here's a great one from LAST year
salty_monkey ---- DPOY: Ulmer, Galion

Notice who voted for Ulmer for DPOY even though he was on a (5-5) team

Then THIS YEAR, we get this post
salty_monkey ------- "player of the year from a 5-5 team?"

This is the sad state of Galion fans. Such blind homers. They can see the talent when it's THEIR kid, but can't when it's on another team.

I stay unbiased.

Last year I voted for Ulmer for DPOY even though he was on a (5-5) team <--- Didn't get attacked by Galion fans for this one
This year I voted for Watson for OPOY even though he was on a (5-5) team <--- Got attacked by Galion fans for this one

I stay UNBIASED. You Galion Homers crack me up though. As blind as they come.

Proud of ya, champ. You get the ol' atta boy for this. Someday you will make the world safe for non-Galion NOL voters of this made up award. Until then, I will write letters to the editor and petition my state representatives. Please Vogel, please carry on this fight until someday, straw poll voters from Upper, Norwalk, Shelby and Willard will feel the freedom to vote without intimidation; until voters from Tiffin and Bellevue will be able to push a button on their computer to participate in your meaningless prize without the fear of retribution. "We shall overcome someday!"

^^^ Gotta love Galion people.

Just funny that typically we get a nice distribution of voters. This year it was over 50% from Galion. 9 votes total from the 7 other schools combined. Galion with 13 votes. Typically we get more voters too.

And every time someone didn't vote Galion for all 4 choices they were attacked. Gotta love Galion people.

Got to hand it to you you just destroyed the NOSF award yourself because you didn't get your way. Then set here and write that Rich Ulmer is not deserving of this He set an NOL all time tackle record but he's not deserving of this award. How petty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

V ag has the audacity to say the Galion fans attack other fans when things aren't told how they want to hear it. Are you f'n serious dude?

Willard fans are notorious for doing exactly what you are whining about. Should we go back and discuss the Nick Dial threads both on NOSF and JJ?
How dare anyone say anything about Nicky.

Dude you are a pu$$y! You need to grow some balls and stop this whole nonsense about Galion. It's not our fault you have nothing to cheer for anymore. So again - go to the basketball thread and tell everyone how bad Willard will be this year and then tell us how bad the NOL will be. Football season for NOL is over buddy. Move on.

should be questioned for POY -- OFFENSIVE player we were talking about in Watson! NOT DEFENSIVE player you jacka$$. Way to work my comments to better your appearance. Go back and re-read my post. Comparing apples to oranges!

Such contamination of your imaginary award should not be permitted. I suggest you suspend your imaginary award ceremony for this year, and not allow voting for your invisible trophy again until Galion either falls below .500 or leaves for the NCC, whichever comes first.

No, just asked a question as to how an "offensive player of the year" award can go to someone from a 5-5 team. Watson had a great season for sure! All-NOL 1st team QB for certain, but in order to be offensive player of the year, you have to have your "A" game every night and he did not....

As you can see, I ONLY mentioned being offensive POY, not defensive POY. Way to twist my posts around! Ulmer is deserving of being defensive POY having lead the league the last two seasons in tackles and being the all-time tackles leader in a "weak" NOL! He deserved it last year and you are damn right I voted for him then too!

^^^ OMG LOGIC! Wow! But you're from Galion so you are just saying that because you're a homer. Why? Cause all Galion fans are homers.

See... the league was down because Galion won it. So when votes are down... it's because Galion fans intimidated other fans. So essentially what Vag is saying is that Galion fans are superior to all other fans because we are able to intimidate. Which is why he is so flustered right now because even his own Willard fans are bashing him for his dumb a$$ comments. They are embarrassed. As they should be. For someone so smart with statistics, I've never seen someone equally as dumb in logic!

Salty....I don't see how that is apples to oranges.
last year you agreed with a player on a 5-5 team getting a POY award, this year you disagreed. doesn't matter if it was and Offense or defense POY, the point was that you flip flopped on what one of your criteria was for POY...

Honestly the picks are peoples opinions...arguing with them is not going to change their opinion...it will just crap up a thread and make people all pi**y.

not saying I agree with everything Vogel has to say..but good lord things have gotten really crappy on here lately due to the CONSTANT BICKERING between a lot of you.

I am happy Galion won the league...the people of the community deserve it but it seems like too many of you are only looking to make someone else look bad.

I don't get it...I never saw people act this way when Bellevue, Tiffin or Fostoria won the league. Then again that maybe because most of them acted like they had been there before.

Once and for all, in my opinion, I said I think that a POY for offense should not come from a 5-5 team. That is all!
Galion fans have only acted this way because they were provoked by vogel. You are correct, we have not be "here" for a long time and as we try to enjoy it, we have to read the $hit that vogel has to post on here with his countless WORTHLESS comparisons, his vast knowledge of stats (LOL), and his constant reminders of "Galion could not beat anyone by more than 7 points" routine. You too, as a Bellevue person would get tired of hearing (reading) it too!

you act as if he was the reason they went 5-5. In reality, he was the reason we didn't do worse than 5-5

only one team in the past decade has had their defense give up 30+ points a game and still managed to have a winning record in the NOL, and it was because they had Curtis Watson

Just give Watson and Brooks Co-NOSF Offensive players of the year and then give Brooks POY due to the program's success.

Fair enough? Both are deserving.

And beyond the 15 fans on NOSF no one really gives two ****s. LOL.

Let me offer this sincere apology as I accept the shame we have brought upon ourselves.

Everybody from Galion should stop bothering the peace makers from the rest the NOL. They ALL come here with friendly greetings and a heart filled with joy. Galion fans should stop their evil, hate filled rhetoric towards the kind and gentle Vogel.

We need to act like we have been there!!!! During our record setting NOL losing streak our NOL brethern NEVER took cheap shots at Galion, they ALL knew how to win with class. They treated us with dignity and respect at all times. Now we repay their kindness by enjoying our Tigers? What is wrong with Galion people!

This league needed Galion to leave. Our lack of class was a disruption to the harmony known as the NOL. The rest the league never argues amongst themselves. I call upon all Galion fans to stop starting these arguements with Vogel and his men of virtue. Stop suggesting that Galion is anything better than average and that our players have any talent.

changing my votes

OPOY- Watson
DPOY- Champer
MVP- Ward
Coach of the Year- Strance

Now I am cleansed of my evil bias. After all, these players and their teams had much better seasons than Galion.

Tigerpaw...sorry man but yes I am from Galion, but I did not vote for them because of that reason. I believe they are deserving of the non exisiting award. However, I see NO argument with anyone that has Champer or Watson in those categories. I think they are all deserving of the award, It is hard to vote against players that lead a 10-0 team.

However, this award is opinionated and NOT REAL! Ha.

I didn't vote and could care less about who gets what but I have been reading all of this and I do find it interesting what Vogel pointed out about salty questioning how Watson can be a POY when his team is only 5-5 yet last year he voted Ulmer a POY when his team was only 5-5.

Now before anyone goes off on me, this is no disrespect to salty or anyone else, just found it interesting.

Yep, that's right.

Ptz, I never accused you of saying one bad thing about Galion in your past posts. I don't need to. I'm addressing the crap you said in your current post. Your Galion comparison with other NOL schools who win with class was my issue. After beating Bellevue and finishing 10-0 every single Galion fan was gracious and showed good sportsmanship. We are about 50 threads into Vogel's crap with Galion's fans right now. That's it, it doesn't involve anybody else or any other schools.

I was using sarcasm to illustrate how ridiculous it is to act as if Galion people are somehow less classy after winning. In most cases Vogel is just promoting this site by stirring the pot. We happen to be the active fan base right now because our team is winning. This site used to be full of Willard fans, they've lost intrest due to their losing seasons.

I called you his boy because this is not the 1st time that you have spoke up on his behalf. You usually softly dismiss his garbage rants with a simple "I don't agree with everything Vogel says", then you follow up with some cheap shots on the person arguing with him.

Spare me your lecture. You prove your own point when you tell people to "kiss my A$$".

I guess you would need more facts to know if Salty's pick was biased last season. This season he was voting on the best player on a 5-5 team vs the best player on a 10-0 team.

Who was the other top candidate competing with Ulmer last year and what was his team's record? Maybe last year it wasn't as close of a call as this year was.

If Galion was 5-5 I might have gone with Watson. Watson is a special player and he deserves as much consideration as anybody. Some people feel that leading his team to 10-0 was the deciding factor in a close vote. Maybe Ulmer's vote did not seem as close to Salty. I picked Brooks because he brought his A game for 10 straight weeks. I don't think Watson was as consistant.

I've also been singing Watson's praises all year long. I have argued that he has D1 talent all year. I think he has the most college potential of any senior in the NOL.

GG

I never spoke up on his behalf in this thread...my statement was meant to be more general than that.

I questioned Salty on his voting criteria and he replied with what I feel is a good answer and I thank him for that. Because I questioned it does that make me a Vog supporter? That is silly.

I can agree with a lot of the stats...and no cheap shots were taken...It seems like all a bunch of the galion posters have wanted to do lately is get into arguments over the stupid garbage rants Vogel has posted, there used to be a lot more people around before all this name calling started.
