From the Vogel Rankings

Who would you take

You know about the 2009 teams. I'll remind you about the 2001 teams

#1 seeds
89.430 - 2001 Tiffin Columbian (only missed playoff due to being not able to play Upper do to an Upper girl dying the week of the game)
70.554 - 2009 Galion

#2 seeds
86.606 - 2001 Bellevue - (Made it to the State-Semi's)
69.624 - 2009 Tiffin Columbian

#3 seeds
83.094 - 2001 Willard - (played 4 playoff teams in the regular season (went 3-1) (Went 1-1 in the playoffs losing by 2 the the AP #1 team)
55.029 - 2009 Shelby

#4 seeds
76.455 - 2001 Upper Sandusky (played 4 playoff teams, 5 if you count their playoff game)
54.175 - 2009 Bellevue

#5 seeds
68.663 - 2001 Galion (played 4 playoff teams, and their 5th game was vs above mentioned TC)
52.921 - 2009 Fostoria

#6 seeds
67.454 - 2001 Shelby (played 5 playoff teams (beat 2, lost by 1 in a 3rd)
48.499 - 2009 Upper Sandusky

#7 seeds
44.917 - 2001 Norwalk (played 4 playoff teams)
46.973 - 2009 Willard

#8 seeds
43.129 - 2001 Bucyrus (played 5 playoff teams)
40.524 - 2009 Norwalk

I know Galion fans will take 2009.

I'll take 2001. when your 6th best team is beating 2 playoff teams (teams that won playoff games) and losing by 1 to a team that went (11-2). That's more than what 2009 Galion has done so far. 2009 Galion will play 0 playoff teams in the regular season. Notice how similar 2009 Galion is ranking wise to 6th place 2001 Shelby.

I hate to bring this up again, the talent level is down. Then again we can all long for the good ole days, but with enrollment going down, yes talent also goes down. On the other hand Galion is the king of the hill this year & that is what the boys play for.

Just because the hill is smaller does not mean Galion should not be proud of what they are doing(being king of the hill)...they deserve to talk a little smack after being down for so long.

Every league has its downtime...

Serious question to Vogel,

When comparing 2009 vs 2001 in all your rankings... is the 2001 rankings thru week 8? Or are those final calculations for end of season, where the 2009 would only be thru week 8?

I'm just trying to grasp the real comparison instead of comparing missing variables.

Champions are made in the off-season.

Vag...If you are going t o continue to play "Fantasy Matchups".. Hell.. all of us Galion fans will take the 85 Tigers against whatever you have there....

But as for reality.. we'll stick with our team... and hope they go 10-0!

...a lot of this started when some Galion posters handed out "very good team" stickers to some of Galion's opponents like it was some 2nd grade spelling test, anyone above a D gets a sticker that greatly exaggerates the accomplishment.

I know Galion fans will take 2009. Its only fair for them not to, fact of the matter is the season is not over and what can they do in the playoffs?

Bellevue bacame the best team in the NOL that year after week 13. Regional champs at 11-3. That was the last team in the NOL that recorded 11 wins. Galion has a shot at that this year being in D-4. Fostoria had a tough time in that Region with Hyde last year .

I didn't play on a 2001 team. I had already graduated.

I live in reality though. Not a fantasy world like you.

2009 Galion is about on par with that 2001 Galion team.

2001 Galion played a REAL SCHEDULE.

2009 Galion will play 0 playoff teams. And is winning by 7 in every single one. 2009 Galion = greatest ever

Carry Galion homers. You are so great. Can't wait to see you lay the wood to Genoa and can't wait to watch you still playing after Thanksgiving. You are that good. Greatest ever.

I didn't mean YOUR 2001 team....I meant the 2001 team you were picking as being stronger.....duh!

You don't live in reality....you live in the past.

Fact of the matter is, Galion has played a perfect season thus far and we have no reason to doubt. 8-0 is 8-0. It gives this community and these athletes something to believe in, look forward to, and be proud of. That's one of the beauties of high school sports...you can go from the goat to the king in a relatively short time period (enter coach Hawkins and staff).

Keep on knocking there, Vogel. You cannot take away the sense of pride and accomplishment this town is experiencing!!!

Just ignore Vag. He is sitting in a mental hospital with access to internet somewhere... probably Willard.

Who freakin cares dude. Seriously. 2001 is a distant memory. That's like the Galion fans saying... hmm, would you rather have the 85 galion team or your team from this year. Cmon. Thatwas 20 some years ago. It's over. We've ALL moved on.

Go Tigers.

8-0 = greatest of all-time. Watch out New England Patriots the Galion Tigers are 8-0, that's better than you. They'll smack you around, that is unless it's muddy then they will only win by 7.

8-0 means all-time best

Never mind that Galion will play ZERO playoff teams in the regular season. Barely beating non-playoff teams means Galion is all that and some more.

Fantasy world = thinking Galion is a 5-2 or 4-3 type NOL team in a typical year
Reality world = thinking Galion is all that and some more

Go Tigers, greatest team ever.

Vogel, give it a rest. Nobody is claiming Galion is the greatest team ever. The community from Galion is happy and proud of what they have accomplished....so lay off them. Your stats mean nothing, its just stuff to provoke a fight.

I know for a fact that if Willard was 8-0 you would be spitting off at the mouth every week. Ease up. As for you Galion fans, be proud of your kids. I hope that Willard will soon experience a title again.

You obviously do not know me. I'm a REALIST. If Willard was beating 0-8 teams by 14 and 2-6 teams by 7. I would be keeping my mouth shut. That's a sign of a team that can loose to ANYONE. That's not a sign of a team you should be pimping.

But Galion fans are so out of touch with Reality that they think 2009 Galion > 2001 Bellevue.

(8-2) = 2001 Bellevue

When I say Galion is a (8-2) type team in a typical year I'm a hater. Carry Galion, you are the greatest ever. Stick it to Genoa.

Vag -- what Galion fan has said they are better than the 2001 Bellevue team?

What Galion fan has said they could beat Genoa?

What Galion fan has said they are the greatest of all time?

Dude all you are showing is your *** on these threads. You're the leader of this forum and this is how you roll?

No wonder the #'s have stayed the same the past 3 years. It's the same ol same ol on NOSF. Nothing changes right Vag?

The fact is - in this pathetic league... Willard is stinking it up. And you can't stand it.

Glad they let you out for coloring today.

Well, it's clear from the data that top to bottom the NOL is vastly inferior than what it was in 2001. But, what is the purpose of the thread? To try and trash Galion? I just don't get why you'd start a random thread like this.

Some of the way you guys act over 16-18 year old kids is just plain bizarre.
