Posted August 11th, 2012 07:56 PM IP Since I could not impress Buckeye Kid with Norwalk's Friday scrimmage opponents, I will try again. On Saturday the Norwalk volleyball team visited central Ohio to scrimmage defending D2 state champ Bishop Hartley (24-5), Cincinnati Wyoming (25-1), Dover (23-3), St. Francis DeSales (24-3), and D4 state runner-up Tuscarawas Central Catholic (23-5). A very good three hours of volleyball.

Posted August 12th, 2012 08:47 AM IP Not a bad scrimmage,,but clearly not the lineup that Willard faced on Saturday,,,,Wynford, Elgin and Lexington,,,,,,,but nice try Dipper.
Willard beat Wynford and Elgin but lost to Lex 18-25 25-18 and 17-19.
How did things go at Blackswamp?

Do you have access to it? Would like to know what other Ohio teams are there as all the rankings come out. "If you're my enemy and you're by the side of the road with a flat tire, and it's 20 below zero, I'm going to stop and throw a gallon of water on you and keep going."

Yes I do.
I will update the Ohio teams on here as the information is available. They are listing 20 high school teams each day.

#87 - Norwalk
#62 - Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame
#60 - Columbus Bishop Hartley
#55 - Findlay
#37 - Lakota East
#19 - Miami East
#16 - Toledo St. Ursula
Others to watch outside the top 110 - Kettering Archbishop Alter, Beaumont, Gilmour Academy, Lake Catholic, Lakota West, Magnificat, Perrysburg, Ursuline Academy, and Walsh Jesuit.

Posted August 24th, 2012 06:36 AM IP D3 in the NW Ohio,,,watch out for Upper Sandusky,,,very good, very young team,, 3 6'2 or so girls who are all good as well as a nice supporting cast. Not sure how the tourney draw goes,,,but I see a Huron- Upper District final.
Willard scrimmed Upper last night,,and they were the best team we have faced this preseason. Sometimes unspoken words are the best conversations to have.

Posted August 24th, 2012 03:30 PM IP No we haven't played Norwalk. They(norwalk) are the best team in the area regardless of Division,,,however Upper won't have to worry about them,,as they are D3 unless I'm mistaken.
Just hoping our little Flash team can finish 2nd in the NOL,,,and maybe make it to the Districts,,,,that's a reasonable -attainable goal.

Over the summer is different than preseason, NOL teams aren't going to scrimmage each other. Just like any other sport.
Understand it now? Damn. Yep, that's right.

Posted August 30th, 2012 01:00 PM IP Preseason is when the OHSAA allows a determined amount of scrimmages. There's a difference between summer/summer workouts/summer tournaments and preseason/scrimmages. Yep, that's right.

Posted August 30th, 2012 02:14 PM IP Boy I'm dumb I always thought summer ball was summer ball. So BB is doing preseason during the summer. Is that why the state limits pre season to only 10 contact days for the school staff. Summer ball cannot be mandatory.
I always though you could only have 5 pre season scrimmages after the official start date.
During the summer you can play against teams 61 days out of summer season if you want to but the coaching staff can only coach 10 days
My humble opinion is that in the summer you play any body you want.
In the pre season (for app. 2 weeks after the official start ot the season this year it was 8/6) you play any body that will make your team better.

But how often do you see two NOL teams(or any league) scrimmage each other?
Yup, that's what I thought. Yep, that's right.
