Posted March 31st, 2012 03:00 PM IP Norwalk will be returning its top nine next year.
Seniors - Shane, Obringer, Hall and Weininger
Juniors- Moffitt and Rogers
Sophomores - Obringer, Frericks, and Lortcher
I have also heard that they have added Division 1 state semi-finalist Findlay to an already very good schedule. Good luck to the Ladies in Blue!

I want to say there was a Toledo team, maybe Central Catholic added as well? Both Norwalk schools will play at Findlay next year, ironically.
They are also at that Oregon Clay Invite ... so Norwalk and Huron may finally meet up, albeit an hour away from home. (Assuming Huron goes back to Clay like usual).
And this isn't coming off as trying to sound cocky or putting down the rest of the NOL, but I think Norwalk going 30-0 in sets next fall in 10 league games isn't exactly out of the question.

Posted April 10th, 2012 01:43 PM IP she's transfering to Willard though,,is what I have heard. Teaming up with Danhoff, should make for a pretty tough front for the Flashes. Not sure if it's enough to overtake Norwalk though. Sometimes unspoken words are the best conversations to have.

Posted April 10th, 2012 07:19 PM IP Absolutely correct. They are talented and deep at every position. The chemistry is outstanding among the players. Coaching is second to none. I thought their defense was strong last season. The long rallies to gain the point really tired the opposition.
Looking ahead, Parma Padua will probably return to Ontario. Will Hartley, DeSales or Big Walnut venture north? Celina and Bath are perennial powers from the west. I hear both coaches resigned over near Rt. 75. Interesting regional to say the least. Norwalk has been in the shadows of the Rams for several years. I believe this is their year to shine. I can't wait to see them.
I have heard there will be a big national tournament in Columbus this summer for volleyball. The best teams and players will be there. If anyone has information on this event. Please post it. Thanks

Posted April 10th, 2012 08:44 PM IP USA Volleyball's Girls Junior National Championships will be held at the Columbus Convention Center from June 28 through July 7. This tournament will bring over 800 teams from around the country in age divisions 12 -18. In order to play in this tournament you must qualify in a USAV qualifier or a regional event. Several Ohio teams have already qualified for this event. The balance of Ohio teams will be attempting to qualify this weekend at the Ohio Valley Region's bid qualifying tournament in Columbus. Good luck to all teams.
I do know that the Blackswamp 17's are qualfied for this event having won the Northeast Qualifier in Baltimore this past weekend. Team members include Laura Danoff (Willard), Morgan Ott (Edison) Devon Murray (Shelby), Kelli Weininger and Sam Obringer (Norwalk), Kristin Sessler (Femont SJ), Sarah Parker (Mohawk), Kayce Krucki, Emma Schleucher, and Abby Stine (Findlay).

And a nearly $100 million dollar revenue race park ... and an airport that is in the news for anything but the plane flying. "If you're my enemy and you're by the side of the road with a flat tire, and it's 20 below zero, I'm going to stop and throw a gallon of water on you and keep going."

Yeah I guess that you are right BKid. I looked up their records last year and the nine teams only combined to win 78% of their contests by going 166-47. But their was one team that did have a record below .500.

Posted August 9th, 2012 06:39 AM IP I'm ready for the Vball season to start along with Football,,,with the Indians going down in flames and work being extremely stressful,,,need something to look foward to watching again.
Not that Willard can claim the ability to beat Norwalk, I think we'll put a quality team on the court who is legit and will be able to play with and possibly beat every other team we face this season if we are on. A nice collection of athletes and girls who have played club and other sports and are pretty athletic.
5 of the 6 starters all played on good JO teams,,,and that's what it takes to be successful in HS Volleyball.
Norwalk obviously trumps that with every girl in their top 10 being on a National or American level team. It's no wonder they have high expectations this season.
