Wow...saw the ads in Tiffin paper today too for SW....I thought maybe they were going in the right direction when they hired Rutter to coach the boys but what will he have to work with?? How long until SW closes and St Mike's in Findlay becomes K-12 school? Almost makes more sense.

What makes you think St. Mike's is wallpapered in hundred-dollar bills? Where is their building to house K through 12?

I thought I'd tone this down a little. The threat of closing St. Wendelin and other Catholic high schools is very real. The idea of opening new ones -- not so much.

Good point...I just know a lot of Findlay people who would love a catholic K-12 school in town and are hesitant to send their kids to a dwindling SW and have heard the talk

They may want a K-12 school in Findlay, but they're probably more hesitant about building one as they are about sending their kids to St. Wendelin.

I regret that I have but two middle fingers to give to our government.

With school ready to go this week, how many players from the SW 8th grade team last year are enrolled elsewhere? Is Lang the only one?

Not sure about the eighth grade situation this year.
Have heard that in the past, though, certain authority figures at St. Mike's encouraged families to send their eighth graders to other schools instead of St. Wendelin, with the diocese looking the other way.

I regret that I have but two middle fingers to give to our government.

Good point SJCC.....I have friends in Findlay and I know LB is the most popular open enrollment school in Hancock County right now....Van Buren probably second as they have grown recently too. SW people have to be at least a little worried

Now that the season has started, only 4 out of 8 8th graders have returned, with others going to St. Francis, Van Buren and I believe Elmwood? Pretty low in numbers for the program this year
