Posted November 25th, 2011 08:04 PM IP I think perkins having the players and coaching they have can come out and win this game, I like the pirates this year. They have some really nice players doster and williams are still young but should have a great season, if david is anything like danny i see good things in the pirates future. Fresh like Oj

Posted November 26th, 2011 09:26 AM IP I dont think this game will be +20 or +15, if Norwalk does win i think its under 10, even without Smith. They looked very good last night at the preview against Brookside. They won by 13 in the half and Brookside had a nice team. I look for Perkins to continue to be solid as Williams is going to step up nicely with Smith out. Once Smith gets back to full strength, look out cause this team has big time potential.

Posted November 26th, 2011 11:17 AM IP Went to the preview last night...
Perkins - WOW Benkey is a huge pickup. The kid is an athlete and is physical on both ends of the court. The loss of Smith is huge but Benkey is stepping into the starting role nicely. He probably had 12-14 points in about 8-10 minutes of play last night.
SMCC - Once Harris is back this team is going to be solid. They won their two quarters against Lutheran West.
Edison - Rebuilding year but they do have some pieces to build around.

Posted November 27th, 2011 08:21 AM IP I can understand predicting a Norwalk W, but I think Perkins still has a shot and certainly don't think the margin will be 15-20. What other people think of me is none of my business.

Posted November 27th, 2011 10:58 AM IP If Smith was healthy i would take Perkins. With Smith being out i give a slight edge to Norwalk. Perkins bench will be weak this season and i think that is the difference in this game.

Posted November 27th, 2011 04:00 PM IP Close is silly, Norwalk won every quarter but one against Ontario. Ontario beat Perkins in every quarter they played. Just scrimmages, but a good indicator that Perkins will have problems until Smith returns healthy, in shape and with his skills in top form. Not until after the first of the year sometime.
Those 4+ weeks should make Perkins a better team when Smith returns. 13

Posted November 27th, 2011 05:44 PM IP I saw Jake play this summer and he should be a force this year. To say he's going to dominate Ebert after scoring I think 2 points in last years game, maybe I'll have to end up going just to see it for myself.

Fetherolf rolled his ankle and played little if any in the second half of that game last season. Actually it slowed him for nearly the first half of last season...
Close to me is a game that is in doubt whether it's a 2 point or 10 point final margrin...

Posted November 27th, 2011 08:21 PM IP I based my 15 point prediction for Norwalk based on the fact the Truckers ran Perkins off the floor this summer by 20. Yes the Pirates were without Ebert but the guard play edge goes to Norwalk and Haraway is the best player in the gym of anyone healthy or not.

Posted November 27th, 2011 09:20 PM IP From reading about Norwalk on this forum and the NOL forum, not sure why the NOL is even playing out the season, I don't think anybody outside of Ohio State can guard anybody on Norwalk's team from what I am reading here. Alot of hype for kids that are still kids.
You can call it an excuse if you want but Perkins playing without Smith is a huge obstacle for them vs Norwalk. Consider that not only are you losing his 15-20 points but also the points he creates for others. They may struggle to keep up with Norwalk on Friday but when Smith does return Perkins will be that much deeper.
Huron, Margaretta, Clyde, SMCC need to take advantage in December because Perkins may not lose in January and February.

I believe with a healthy Smith, Perkins is the best team in the area. Sorry to burst your bubble, but yes there are other good teams in the area besides Norwalk. It is unfortunate that it will not be the area showdown we all hoped to see.

Posted November 28th, 2011 02:59 PM IP I must be missing something here...Norwalk wins their first NOL title since Lyndon Johnson was in office, and now one of their biggest supporters has predicted that they run the table from the freshman to the varsity? Seriously, what has Norwalk done thus far that gives them the title of best team in the region? I think Perkins might have a say on how things go this Friday...Isn't Norwalk the biggest school in the area as well?

Perkins might as well stay home Friday. I heard Ebert doesn't want to play because he is scared of Featheroff.

I'm hearing the same thing about Ebert. This guy goes and gets himself a big football scholarship to Toledo, and now can't even hold this kids jock from Norwalk...
