Posted January 3rd, 2012 10:25 AM IP Cody Thompson had 45 catches for over 850 yards receiving this season at receiver for the Tigers. Couple that with some outstanding kick and punt returns, makes Thompson one of the most dangerous prospects in the SBC in recent years. Tony Legando figured out that it's a good thing to have the ball in Thompson's hands...I'd like to see James use Thompson as more of a "feature" player and let the offense work through Cody. Thompson is a "drive and dish" guy, so spread the floor and let him do his thing. Thompson doesn't have alot of guys in this league that can check him off the dribble...Thompson is about the only guy that can create his own shot at Huron, so let him get some decent screens that gives him even more space to operate. Good athletes at Huron, but not many guys that can get to the basket...

Posted January 3rd, 2012 10:35 AM IP Huron has several guys that can finish at the basket, but not many that can get to the basket...Casey, McCready and Driftmeyer are guys that can make the best of missed shots and second chances around the paint...

Posted January 3rd, 2012 11:50 AM IP Casey was not much of a factor in the Margretta game like he was in most of the previous games. He is a great rebounder and gets alot of garbage points. Seems when he scores in double digits, Huron gets a win. If you ain't first....Your last!

Posted January 3rd, 2012 12:15 PM IP Casey played really well against Perkins, as did McCready.
I think Huron will get it turned around. It's not like their being blown out, they're losing close games. Execute, make FT's, and play hard for an entire game and those L's will turn into W's.

Sounds like James finally took the reigns off Thompson a bit last night (28 pts). However there is no reason Huron should be challenged in games like one last night. The talent I saw through the younger years and last year should roll through all not named Perkins in this league. I don't get it I thought the Tig's would be in discussions with Perkins & Norwalk as the top teams in this area. Maybe they pull it together heading down the stretch I hope so...

Posted January 7th, 2012 08:40 PM IP Like I said (thanks sportsfan123), Thompson is a "drive and dish" guy. I've seen guys like Thompson for years and years...They're good at what they do. Just let them do what they do...Huron should be scoring 70 a night, and not scrambling at the end for points...

Posted January 9th, 2012 04:35 PM IP SBC games Friday:
Clyde @ PC
Edison @ Huron
Margretta @ SMCC
OH @ Perkins
Should have at least 2 competitive games MHS/SMCC and Clyde/PC that could go either way. Huron and Perkins most likely will take care of business.

Posted January 12th, 2012 11:15 PM IP With the SBC sitting at 2-7 vs the NOL with a couple big contests coming up this weekend... The NOL leader Norwalk is at home vs PC while one of the top SBC dogs Huron invades Willard Sat. How will they fare???

Huron has talent but they currently sit in 5th place behind Perkins, Margaretta, Clyde and PC in the SBC. Huron has some talent but a 5th place team does not make them a top SBC dog.

Clyde won every 50/50 ball tonight and shot lights out. I don't care if Port Clinton was down two starters tonight. Clyde whipped our butts and probably would have still whipped them if PC was healthy. A sad display of basketball tonight for the redskins. I'd rather spend eternity in hell than spend five minutes in a heaven filled with people like vogel.

Are the starters sick or hurt? Just curious since they come to Norwalk on Saturday...

Posted January 13th, 2012 11:56 PM IP Was that the one he was called for a T, cause that was a horrible call, there was a defender right there, and he did not hang on it for more than a second, just so he didnt get hurt. Blodgett's one handed dunk was pretty sweet too, a memory he will have with him a long time, after a rough senior season for his team.
