Here's a little backyard mural for a local boy's house (in Petaluma, CA).

Painted by Bam and I.

Katch x Rome x Prime x Erin Yoshi x Bam x Gape x Estria

Bam I and finally finished this wall this past weekend. We got these folks together the day after our battle in Oakland last October. Finally had a chance to tie it all together.

Rome & Gape are from Chicago. Folks tripped out on Prime's character painting ability. Katch paints unbelievably fast.

Again, more and larger photos here:

It's a good question, but not sure if it applies to me. I was born and raised here, then moved to the mainland after high school. In the 80s Bam and I were known in Frisco as the Hawaiian writers. (Katch too when he moved up there.) Back then Bam and I didn't paint local culture stuff. We were kids so we were into comicbooks, anime, and SF graff culture. Now that we're older, we want to promote our cultures more.

I painted my first honu for Mike Dream after he died. I didn't know why, but it just seemed right. That was in 2000, and then I kept painting them. A few years ago my father died and I got to meet my Hawaiian family for the first time. Turns out our aumakua is the honu.

The tikis just go way back to when I got one of the first triple crown posters. It had the dopest tiki, and I would copy it. I painted a couple back in the 80s but they sucked.

The octopus stuff I blame on Pest3. He got me into those.

cool..., i was a little drunken/wasted on that last question, but its something i've always wondered. i used to live in the mainland for a while as well and full blown hated it. came back and something just felt right. i was home...being that i was gone a while.

i think when i asked you that question in that manner, i was just picking fights with cokeheads.. been a ruff week and i saw to point my finger at you.
my appologies.

i know stuffs been ruffs with the internet stuffs, but maybe one day, you will find that aloha community graf writers you've always been lookin for.
just be jedi
