I started looking at ATACX when you first posted about it. To be honest I don't see the benefit vs S&P. Can you explain to me what I am missing?

The S&P has gone gangbusters for the last few months, but it can also be very fickle. ATACX wants to minimize risk by rotating into bonds before the market turns ugly. Somehow, this resonates with me because I feel like the market is a trumped up house of cards. He also backtested his strategy against a long period of time.
Then again, it might be that the best thing to do is just buy the S&P and hope it keeps going up. Buffett says that stocks are still a buy now, and I'll never forget his Op-Ed piece in the New York Times almost five years ago.

Posted May 16th, 2013 11:45 AM IP What about SPXL for the long term? Since it is based on daily moves of 3x S&P it does have horrific short term down turns, but then long slow daily upward movements recover. Didn't Allen look at 3x S&P once upon a time? "It's only money, not life or death"
