I don't agree with that...there are other good bands on there, just none deserving what they got.
I don't see how Reign in Blood was the best album of the past 20 years. That category is shit and almost impossible to give to the rightful owner. |

I believe that award was given out because it is the album's 20th anniversary. And seeing as how it was probably one of he most extreme albums at the time...I'd say it deserves the fucking award.
The rest is self explanatory...Metal Hammer is like Englands' own AP magazine, so they market to the Hot Topic generation.
And in case you didn't listen to ALL of A7X's City of Evil...I'd say that Synyster Gates is a pretty good contender for shredder of the year. |

And what I was saying about the Reign in Blood thing...they made a category for the best album for any time 20 years back. Millions of albums have been released since 1986. That category is impossible to fufill. |

yeah it was extreme, but so is a dropkick to the face. Doesn't mean it DESERVES an award..you don't DESERVE awards, that's how best drummer goes to a guy like Smith from Trivium. You EARN awards. Btw, I OWN and listen to City of Evil, and I only thought the album could be described by saying "they have their moments".

Sorry, but Roadrunner is not the best metal label anymore...they're home to the most washed up metal and nu-metal bands, I'll give them that.
Synyster shouldn't have gotten the shredder award...I mean I love the guy and he is talented no matter what anyone says, but I think there's better out there.
And yes Erik I'm having a WTF moment w/ the golden god award too, haha. |

while Aiden does have that whiny quality, Coheed and Cambria doesn't. I can see why you wouldn't like them though. The singer's voice is easily an alto. I fell in love with their instruments when I first heard them, and it took me a while, but I got to love the singer's voice as well.
