For anyone that doesnt know, fred phelps is the leader of the westboro baptist church in kansas. He and his "congregation" go around to the funerals of fallen soilders, and protest at there funerals because "we allow homosexuals to live in our country" and the people are getting killed in Iraq and other places as gods punishment.
They are planning on protesting at the funeral National Guard Cpl. Chris Kleinwachter. The good news is The Patriot Guard Riders are going to show up. They are a group of motorcycle riders who attend the funeral services of fallen soldiers around the country to pay their respects and to shield family members from interruptions from protesters.
I hope to god ( ironically? ) there van goes into the ditch on the highway and does 9,546,291.2 barrel rolls and they all die. |

that made me lol....Had my brother died in Iraq, and they came to his funeral. I would have had no problem with unloading multiple clips into them. After words I would have went straight to the cops, turned myself in, pleaded guilty, and lived out my sentence knowing I had done some good. |

Except for their hateful children, but yes, they are predominantly lawyers, which is probably why they get away with as much as they do to begin with. They're careful not to tresspass, not to break noise restrictions, and things like that. |

I would like to argue that point, out of the 10 people i know personally, that served in Iraq. 9 of them where in the National Guard....why you ask? to help pay for school, and none of them wanted to go. Not everyone that signs up for the military is doing it to serve his country in the traditional sense.
I read some more into that video,as it turns out, that wasnt even there van. There van had its tires slashed, and was put on its top by the towns folks. we should contact pflag, and do a gay pride rally directly across from them. |

I think it's kind of a given that if you sign up for any branch of the military, be it active or something not-so-active like the national guard, you're signing your life over to the government. I don't see how this could be offensive to anybody. |

there is a draft. It's called selective service now, but you have to sign up for it. I recently got a form in the mail imploring me to sign up for it. I asked my dad if I had to and he said "yeah, if you don't wanna go to jail"
so there is a draft. |

Its not becouse of the soldiers that we are in Iraq, they enlisted, but they're not given a choice where to go

Well, technically, there is no draft. Signing up for Selective Service means your information is there in the event that a draft is enacted, but a draft there is not. If there was, people would be heading off to war that did not volunteer for the military.
For what it's worth - no matter why you signed up for the job (money, school, last chance, avoid prison, gung-ho, career, etc) there involves the chance that you might end up fighting and might end up getting injured or killed. It's all in the contract - no fine-print necessary.
That, however, does not justify wars that are started unjustly by our own leaders. Unfortunately, the contract you sign does not take that into account.
But Selective Service is mandatory. You can be fined up to $250,000 and be thrown in jail for 5 years. You also can't apply for any federal aid (read: FAFSA loans) or other benefits if you don't sign up.
They don't often prosecute for it as of late, but they'll hound you a lot and the FBI will show up at your door to give you a last chance to comply before they haul your ass away.
The only thing I have against it is that, in this age of political correctness and "equality," women don't have to sign up. |

Anyway, there should be a law against what he is doing. There isn't, though, so we pretty much just sit back and wait for him to do something wrong. |
