We just saw Hands Across The Border recently, and I was SO disgusted! I thought that maybe it was the cut version, since I'd borrowed it from a friend, and the colection she owns is almost all cut movies. But it's really the 79 min. uncut version! What are your opinions on it? I was disgusted. |

It was interesting. I liked the big party scenes, but other than that to me it didn't really seem like a western to me. Sure there was riding and such, but I wish there had of been a real bad guy. |

I thought the same. It was ok, but there really was not much.... action. I had seen several pictures from the movie, and then I saw the movie and it was not at all what I thought it would be like. |

It did really need more action!
I read though that it was stopped halfway through production because that Herbert J. Yates guy wanted more musical numbers and more big dances and such, so maybe why it didn't have lots action was because they still hadn't sorted everything out. The movie they made after that, though (Cowboy and the Senorita) seemed fine to me. It had action and songs. |

Yes. I liked the songs in it. And I thought it was really funny when 'Teddy Bear' wanted to 'Borrow' Roy's horse. I guess I was surprised to find Roy did not own Trigger. |

I think it's a fine movie by itself, but when you compare it to some of Roy's others like Bells of Rosarita, Lights of Old Santa Fe, and The Gay Ranchero, it really doesn't have a leg to stand on.
I really didn't like Teddy Bear as Roy's sidekick either so I was indignant at all of his comedy attempts.
I perfer this movie much more so than another of Roy's I saw recently-Spoilers of the Plains. The violence was repulsive and the cast wasn't exactly the best either. In fact the only thing I could find that I liked of that one was Bullet's role. |

I agree. It is a fine movie, but like yellowrose13 said, compared to others, it's not the best. I really liked the song "Hands across the Border" though. It was nice!

Naturally, as with any actor (or actress) some movies are better than others. Guess we all have many that are tops over others that RR made. |

I liked the one about the High button shoes. Ruth Terry (who sang that song) looked like Chip in Cowboy and the Senorita when she sang her birthday medely. |

I liked the songs of Hands Across The Border alot. Speaking of which, does any one have the lyrics to the song the Pioneers sang when they first rode into the party on the wagon? I just can't really understand what their singing. |

I liked most of the songs from Hands across the Border. But I liked most of all seeing the scene when Roy is doing tricks on Trigger's back, and then when Roy shows the girl how smart Trigger is, he says that Trigger is just a gentleman. Trigger knocks Roy forward into the car face to face with the girl. Oh, how I laughed! I love the tricks Trigger does! What a pro! The holdup scene with Teddy Bear and Roy was funny. Roy wasn't worried at all.
Granted this movie wasn't one of Roy's best, but I liked it anyway. |

Even though we all have our favorite RR movies, we find scenes in ALL his movies that we find GOOD......something about certain scenes "stick with us" and we remember those scenes vividly! |

There are some movies that I did not care for, but some scenes in them were SO funny. I also think that Hands across the Border was not one of the best RR movies. But the scene where Teddy Bear was trying to steal Roy's horse is one of my favorite scenes of all time! :) |

Me too! Roy was so cool and calm, not worried at all. I liked Teddy Bear--wish he'd been in more. About Hands Across the Border, though, I don't like that movie. That's not to say that I don't like Roy in it--cuz I do--but I can't stand Ruth Terry, the plot was awful, the BG was a flop, etc. So although I liked Roy, Teddy Bear, and Trigger, I didn't like the movie. |

Duncan Renaldo, the infamous CISCO KID, was in HANDS ACROSS THE BORDER.
Was Duncan in any other RR movies ? If so, which ones.
