Brenda Castilla The holidays are near and as we shop, we should remember all the items the Gift Shop offers for fans.

Durango Kid One thing that Roy and Dale insisted on was that the promotional items that had their endorsement on HAD to be of GOOD quality. I believe that statement holds true today, just like it did 50 years ago. Everything that Dusty has in his gift shop looks pretty good to me.

Brenda Castilla Everything that I have ever purchased in Gift Shop during my visits to museums have high quality. That is important to me; what I purchase, I wish it to last due to the memory each item holds as to where it was purchased (which museum) and because it is from the RR/DE Museum which represent nothing less that the best quality possible.

Buffalo Gal Everything we have ever purchased at either museum giftshop, has been at the highest quality.

What holds true is alot of things from the past purchased there, are represented of fond memories of two Americon icons. Roy and Dale were lucky enough to have good companies backin' ther items.

There's lots of items I want Santa to bring me!

triggerjim You know the old term "I owe my soul to the company store". Well, you should try working at the museum with that gift shop so handy every day.

They did have them in the museum gift shop. I know, I got them there. You might wanna call the gift shop at (417) 339-2300 Ext. 225, 9AM-5:30PM CST).

Remember, the gift shop at Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Happy Trails Online Gift Shop is the online gift shop only! They have lots more goodies on site!

Durango Kid Buffalo Gal is right, They do have many more items in the gift shop, than what is listed on the gift shop page of this website.

Everyone really needs to go there and see for your self.

By patronizing the RR museum gift shop, you are helping support this Message Board.

Brenda Castilla I sent my dear, long-time friend (and she is my attorney and keeps me out of trouble) some gifts from the Gift Shop and she was so thrilled when she received them last Friday. She is a fan of RR/DE but she has no free time to be on MB.
I have received gift cards for Christmas and must decide what I want the most from the large variety of items available.

ONE good thing for me happened when the museum moved from Victorville to Branson ~ the gift shop is not just 10 minutes away anymore. I do miss going in and browsing around, and always buying something.. It was a much smaller shop, but they had the best of the best there.. That is for sure.. Rene and Irene did a great job out here and they are even better and bigger in Branson...

Hm Sheila, I get the feelin' that you spent much $'s in there, like I seem to do when Buffalo Jim and I are down there. :D Oh well, it goes to help preserve the legacy of two lovin and wonderful human bein's!!

The Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum Gift Shop in Victorville, California might have been smaller, but it had it's own unique style! It went right along with the fort design of the museum. I liked it!

Irene and Renee' do a fine job!!
December 14th, 2005 04:35 PM
Brenda Castilla Yes, Carolyn...the Gift Shop was smaller in VV but, there was something "special" about it...maybe I knew that I was in a place RR/DE had walked many times. Small it may have been but, they had many items for me to purchase before Tom had a chance to "drag" me out. It was a pleasing thought that "I" had the credit cards in my purse!!!

It did have a special charm about it.. The wonderful stone work that made up the HUGE fire place that was situated in one corner, it took up most of the wall.. And the HUGE stone counter that was also huge. The country charm decor it all gave a warm country feelin' to us.. It was charmingand friendly, just as Roy and Dale were and the family is. I spent a significant amount of money there, (but no more than one does for a personal passion or hobby). I haven't regretted spending one red cent (nor green dollar).. I remember spending some afternoons talking and visiting with everyone. I loved and enjoyed those times. They were special !! it is hard to put into words. I feel those times come again whenever I get to make the trips to Branson too. It maybe a little different feeling than the way it was in Victorville - but close. Just walking through the doors in Branson, I get a warm comfy feeling, like I BELONG there. It makes me feel the words Dusty told us in CA. just before they left, are in fact true... ~ "No matter where the musuem is located, our hearts will always be connected.. " It certainly feels that way to me.. I am thankful for that.. Having the museum so close to me for 30 plus years, and then having it relocate - it felt like a best friend had moved a great distance away... I am glad that friendship is enduring the distance apart. :)
