Do any of you have favorites as far as the hats that Roy wears? I really really REALLY like the one he wore from Bells of San Angelo on. He designed that one himself, and I think it’s definitely the best! I also kinda like the similar one he wears in Rough Riders Roundup and a couple other earlier ones. The hat I’m not too crazy about is the white Stetson he wore from about 1943 to 1946. That thing is too tall, too floppy, and too white! But, in overall, Roy looks good in just about anything he wears! (Except black. I had the shock of my life when he put a black hat on in In Old Cheyenne!) |

He wore a black hat all through THE RANGER AND THE LADY. I like his low tan one best too---but I like him in that tall white stetson too, except when he wore it in UNDER WESTERN STARS. He was so skinny that he ended up looking ridiculous!!!!!!! |

Those hats may appear to be Tan, but I believe the color is called, Silverbelly.
Roy looked good in any style of "cowboy hat".
I don't like him though wearing "Top Hats" or "Derby Hats". It's got to be a COWBOY HAT.

It seems that we almost all agree about what our favorite hat was!
I'll have to disagree with CowboyFan some, I like some of the hats he wore in his historical ones. I like the low round ones with the strings, he wore a tan one in Young Bill Hickock and a black one in The Ranger and the Lady. Other than that they're not that great, and my least favorite hat of all is that tall white one with the string from Jesse James at Bay. That's the worst hat EVER!!!!!!!!! |

I don't like the one from Jesse James at Bay either. I don't mind the tall white hats he wore (I think) in the 1940s. |

Yup. I kinda like that one too. It worked well with his appearance in there--at least when he got out of that horrible frock coat!!! |
