Topie: Romance on the Range

Roughriding Senorita I just watched the uncut version of Romance on the Range! I watched the cut version last year but the uncut version was so much better! I’d forgotten how funny that movie was! I really like it because Pat and the Pioneers are in it a lot, along with Gabby—in one of his best roles! I also really like Linda Hayes in it, and of course, Sally Payne! My sister isn’t too crazy about her role in that movie—mostly because she doesn’t know how to saddle up—but I still like her. Overall, I’d say it’s one of the absolute best pre-Dale movies!

Roughriding Senorita Bother, double-posting again. Gee, I’m gonna get known pretty soon as Double-posting Senorita! Anyway, I forgot to ask the question in above post that was the reason for me starting the topic—does anyone know where Romance on the Range was filmed? I was taking some time to notice the scenery when I watched it again, and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was! Definitely the prettiest scene setting I ever saw. It reminded me quite a bit of the scenery in the set from Under California Stars—maybe they were filmed nearby. But if anybody does know where Romance on the Range was filmed, I’d love to know.

RoyRogersFan It was filmed at the Iverson ranch, the same place that UNDER CALIFORNIA STARS was filmed. No wonder they looked alike!:)

Roughriding Senorita Hey, RRFan, how come you've been holding that info out on me? Tsk, tsk...

Roughriding Senorita Another scene I really like from Romance on the Range is the scene where Pat gets the letter from Sally, saying she’s coming, and he races over to Roy.
“Roy, Roy, you’ve got to help me!” he cries. “Sally’s bringin’ her girlfriend with her an’ I want you to—”
Roy gives him the sick-of-sidekick look and says, “Nothin’ doing. I’m not in a marryin’ mood.”

There’s something just so funny about that exchange! I love the way Roy says his line—and it’s pretty interesting to notice how fast his mood changes, once he gets a good look at Linda Hayes! The final scene is pretty funny, too, where Linda Hayes decides to get back at Roy for those digs he made about city girls. I love the look on Roy’s face when he sees that “Miss Joan Anderson” is really Joan Stubbins!

I don't have that movie, yet. Will have to put it on top of my RR shopping list.

yellowrose13 I love the look that excahnges between Roy and Linda after she says, "At least I don't have a Pomeranian!" It's great!
And when Bob tells Gabby, "Sorry, Gabby, I guess you should've been prettier." :D One of the best lines the whole film! My friends and I usually start repeating it right after he says it. That's when we can tell a great line; when we start repeating it. I love copying Pattie's completely random Southern accent in Bells of Rosarita when she comes up and says, "Bob, you sho can play that geetar. How 'bout a little jitterbuggin' boy? Come on!" :)
Okay, I better stop. Now I'm just rambling. . .

RoyRogersFan The look on Roy's face when he says he's not in a maryin' mood! OOOHH!!!! It's SO funny. Pat looks so desprate, and Roy's just looking down mournfully. The 'should have been prettier' thing was funny too.

Roughriding Senorita The whole dinner scene with the SOP, Roy, and Gabby was great!
