Leah B. MARTMAN... I would continue to look on ebay. They carry so many things and keep on getting new things to sell, just because they don't have them now does not mean they will never have them. Other than that I don't have any suggestions.

CowboyFan I was just reading the list of ones you don't have, and I noticed The Train Robbery. I have that one, I got it from a pack called "The Best of Classic Westerns". In the pack it had an Annie Oakly, two Bonanza, and others.
Here is the link for the set from Amazon.com :
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Classic-TV-Westerns/dp/B0009X76MI

I also, in my searches, found a directory for all (I think) the episodes of the Roy Rogers Show.

This is the link:

Steve In an ideal world, we would get legal and officially sanctioned releases of the RR show in season by season box sets. Perhaps Image Entertainment or one of the other botique labels could be encouraged to undertake such an endeavor?

One of the problems with ebay is that you don't know if you're getting a bootleg or not. Plus episodes may not be the full length or be of poor visual quality.

November 15th, 2006 09:33 AM
CowboyFan Season boxed sets (like the Waltons) would be nice! I don't know why no one has thought of it yet.

One more question (it kind of pertains to Steve's post) how can so many different dvd companies put out RR movies? Is there a license they have to obtain or is it like free rights?
(hope it's fine that I'm asking it here)

November 15th, 2006 05:22 PM
kattkolt The movies and shows and rights were not renewed back in the 70's by the Roy Rogers Enterprises i beleive . They thought that the Roy Dale Era was over. That was before theTNN network started showing The Happy Trails Theatre and Gene Autrys Melody Ranch Theatre. Then a bunch of contry music singers wanted too sing with Roy after his induction into The Country music Hall Of Fame in that time period. Well they did a cd of duets and the whole Roy & Dale just took off like a rocket again. Roy said heck he was retired and just wanted to relax. The great fans just couldnt get enough. Now he is up yonder ridin Trigger with Dale and all the great cowboys we love with the head TRAILBOSS. I cant wait too ride with them again . Hope this helps a little for you. HAPPY TRAILS KITT KOLT!
