Does anyone else on the board look forward to Thursday nights as much as I do so they can watch "Christian Celebrity Showcase" (a compilation of interviews from the old "A Date with Dale" shows)? I was SOOOOO disappointed last week when they used The Carol Lawrence Show instead... she's a lovely lady, too, but I wanted my Dale fix!! |

It's a religious channel, the Trinity Broadcasting Network or TBN. I think it's pretty widely carried on most cable systems.
Gosh, I realize that in my excitement in creating a new topic, I forgot to mention the channel that carried it in my first post ... Sorry!!! |

I am brand-new to the board and didn't even realize that there were three pages of threads ... I apologize to Brenda Castilla, who started this same topic (I found it on page 2) last month ... oops! Sorry, Brenda!
A little further info: I live in the Pacific time zone, and Christian Celebrity Showcase is carried at 9:00 or 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, usually.

We have Dish Satellite and we get TBN. If ya have Direct TV, you too should be ble to receive the channel.

Back in the late 1980's, I remember seeing Roy and Dale both together on a TBN show. Paul Crouch himself was interviewing them, and talking to Roy about how Roy first got started working for Republic Pictures.

Gosh, I was really depressed yesterday afternoon, as I had checked TBN's online schedule and didn't see "Christian Celebrity Showcase" listed. However, I tuned in at 9:00 Pacific time and there was Dale. It was a great show: she interviewed Joanne Dru, Jessi Colter and then the final segment (from 1988) had Roy, Dodie and her husband, and two grandkids ... Candy, and I did not catch the grandson's name, unfortunately. It was so wonderful ... I felt like I was in their home! I hope some other folks saw it. Sent me off to bed in a happy mood, that's for sure! |

Roy and Dale just reach and touch a person's heart with their warm smiles and good honest personalities. What wonderful people they were!!!

I'm going to look for that, I would love to see it. I get TBN but I've never seen the Christian Celebrity Showcase. I guess it's lots of Christian Celebrities not just Dale. I hope I can see it when she is on there. Thanks for telling us about it. |

Yeah, I checked last Thursday and it had someone else interviweing a bunch of stars but they still called it Christian Celebrity Showcase. |

I keep trying to catch the Date with Dale shows also. I did see about 10 minutes one night about a month ago. It was 11:15 midwest time. I have not every caught it again. Like you, Yellowrose13, I saw the Christian Celebrity Showcase last Thursday but it did not have a Dale series on it. I guess we just keep watching. If I see that one is going to be on I will alert on this site. Maybe we can do that for each other. But, only problem is we don't know it until it actually comes on! :( |

I'll have to admit that I was VERY disappointed to see all those boxers being interviewed instead of Dale. I also wish TBN would be correct in their listings ... sometimes when they've had something else listed on their schedule at that time, up pops Dale. You just never know, and it's kind of irritating. At least I'm usually home at that time on Thursday evenings, so I just check in every time ... hope she's on tonight! |

I have discovered our Christian Celebrity Showcase comes on the TBN station at 11:30pm on Thursday night so I have set the recorder to tape it while I sleep. I will review it the next morning. So far Dale has not been on it. Maybe tonight will be our lucky night! I live in the midwest so that is my time zone. Hope this information will help others with the time.

Well, we got cheated again last night, but I'm not going to give up hope that they'll put on some more Dale episodes. I did enjoy the ladies interviewed last night (Dyan Cannon, Hunter Tylo and Kim Alexis), but I still think Dale is the greatest interviewer! |

I've said this before but I'll say it again cause I think it interesting...now:)
Dale came to an Aunt of hers in 1965, I think and spoke to our Sunday School class of about 10 girls:) Weiner roast, hayride you know the spiel. I didn't much appreciate it then as all she did was say the same things my Mother did:) So?:)
But now I wish I could listen all over again!!!! |
