OSU Josh Just like the other threads like this I have started.

here's a thread for scores and updates from around the nation

Rhode Island almost beat Duke today, but fell short 82-79
November 16th, 2008 07:45 PM
Deadly Rabbi that game had me worried. RI is a good team, they beat Syracuse in the dome last year
November 16th, 2008 09:46 PM
Tater44857us RI was picked to finish 9th in the A-10 this year. Either that is way off or Duke isn't as good as their #5 ranking. The past 3 years the Dukies have started the year with a top 10 ranking only to not live up to it.

TJ Bandit Didn't SEE the game, but the Rams shot a ridiculous percentage from downtown.
November 16th, 2008 11:25 PM
TJ Bandit 10-of-14

97 wildcat North Carolina vs. Kentucky (tues.) should be a good game. Will TH still be out for NC, or is he able to play?
November 17th, 2008 07:29 AM
Tater44857us Bandit...For RI the coaches son Jimmy Baron, shot 8-10 from 3pt on his own. The kid can shoot. Close game due to Dukes lack of athleticism .

Wildcat..If it is a close game , I will be surprised. Kentucky started the season with a loss to VMI 111-103. They play no D. I think TH is still out.

out of 14 teams...they're better than 9th they showed that last night...still Duke shouldn't of even been close with this team...their shooting was ice cold that 1st half, they became the good shooting duke team they are in the 2nd...i expect them to finish 2nd behind carolina, hopefully they can make some noise in the ACC and NCAA tourneys
November 17th, 2008 02:55 PM
Deadly Rabbi other than kyle singler, they had no size last year. now they have a junior, Brian Zoubek, who is 7'1. i believe he will become a good player as the season progresses, duke will be better than last year IMO
November 17th, 2008 02:57 PM
Tater44857us Being a Carolina fan, I hope they go bust,,,lol
November 17th, 2008 03:02 PM
Deadly Rabbi lol...i think carolina's gonna win it all...unfortunately :(

the whole starting 5 back, they're just to good
November 17th, 2008 03:04 PM
Tater44857us Hard to go start to finish as #1 team. I like U conn
November 17th, 2008 03:05 PM
Deadly Rabbi Hasheem Thabeet is a beast
November 17th, 2008 03:06 PM
Tater44857us They have nice guard play also. There depth isn't as good as UNC.
November 17th, 2008 03:10 PM
Deadly Rabbi who do you see as a sleeper team?
November 17th, 2008 03:12 PM
Tater44857us After last year, not much of a sleeper, but Davidson and I watched Michigan State, very athletic and quick down the floor. Gonzaga and Purdue.

tigeralum01 did anyone see the highlights of Fresno St and St marys? A fresno state player had a nasty dunk. St marys won the game though
November 18th, 2008 10:05 AM
Tater44857us St Mary's will be tough.
November 18th, 2008 04:08 PM
theAteam I was watching the St. Mary's game. Yes, that dunk was sick. I just got done watching the UNC Ashville game. Their stud frosh had a great game. Something like 21 points, 7 board and 7 dimes. Baylor and Centenary are on right now.
November 19th, 2008 10:23 AM
tigeralum01 Stephan Curry dropped 44 on Oklahoma in 4 point loss last night
November 19th, 2008 10:23 AM
scout15 Arizona has to be the dumbest team in America
November 19th, 2008 10:30 AM
tigeralum01 why?
November 19th, 2008 07:24 PM
ronburgandy one of Arizona's players committed an intentional foul as time expired when he didn't have to. The game was tied and would've gone into overtime but instead the player made the free throw to win.

I, myself, like VMI. If they can even play average AT BEST defense they can win the Big South and make the tourney. Those guys can shoot the hell out of the ball.

Go back a bit before that. Arizona made a bucket to tie it at 71. An Arizona player that went to foul like Arizona was trailing. Luckily, the UAB player missed the free throw. Arizona had a possession and missed and a UAB player was about 3/4 court away from the bucket and Arizona player pulls his jersey from behind. UAB hits the free throw and UAB wins.

I like these guy too. It's teams like VMI, Davidson, St. Mary's, last year's Drake club.... that have these unique idiosyncrasies that make college ball so much more enjoyable for me than the NBA.
November 20th, 2008 04:16 AM
theAteam A lot of people are slurping on VMI because they beat Kentucky. Kentucky is teeerrible. Don't expect too much out of VMI.
November 20th, 2008 07:46 AM
Tater44857us ^^^ I agree, I reserve my expectations on them until later in the year.
