Exec CEO Daniel It look's like this WV team is missng something. They dont look like the same team they used to be.

I cant put my finger on it, can anyone else? ;)
September 19th, 2008 08:58 AM
xparty07 I noticed that too.
They really miss Owen Schmidt.

Yes, they're having a hard time replacing his 3 carries for 20 yards per game.

HUGE loss he was.

Exec CEO Daniel this is pure schadenfreude for me
September 19th, 2008 10:34 AM
Exec CEO Daniel The thing is, when Stewart is fired, WV will have a hard time hiring any solid coach after the way they treated RR.

Good lord this is great. It feels good to be right.
September 19th, 2008 10:59 AM
Buckeye2B What are ya driving at here CEO-D??? What could they possible be missing???
September 19th, 2008 11:20 AM
jake I already asked the famous "WTF" question on the other thread. Stewart just had me completely baffled last night(sorry for being the Captain).

Streak23 What is WVU missing that's so important? Steve Slayton? A veteran defense?

I wonder if Utah or Notre Dame could help me out on this question?

Devine is better than Slaton and their defense has been more than good enough for WVU to be at least 2-1 right now.

One of the problems that doesnt have anything to do with the coach is the O-Line. It is full of veterans and should be dominating opposing d lines. Its kinda the same problem in that regard that OSU is dealing with right now.

TJ Bandit What's missing?

Seems pretty normal to me in Morgantown.

Well. . .the W DOES seem to be missing from the helmet.

94hoops Rich Rod didn't win the big game either. Why would you expect anything to change with a new coach.

Buckeye2B I am still surprised they picked Martin to be the head man with his prior record, but he is ALLLL about WVa FB. He is loyal to a fault, from what I have read, but coaching and game time decisions??? Well, it remains to be seen...

He went down into SEC country and beat Georgia in a BCS bowl game.

Jim Tressel would give his shriveled left nut to have that win on his resume, lol.

I hear ya.. his NC with OSU is nothing compared to a BCS bowl win against Georgia. lol. I know i would much rather have a BCS bowl win instead of a NC. Valid points are flying all over this thread.

theAteam Put some things in context and you might understand the valid points people are saying on this thread. RR won a bcs bowl game with WV versus a good Georgia team. Again, he won that game with WV...not a power house program that gets the best athletes in the country- like tOSU.
September 20th, 2008 03:00 AM
Frank the Tank I put it in context it still means the same to me. Tressel wouldn't give his shrivled left nut for that game because he already has a win which was much bigger. What am i missing Ateam??

Hehe...correct. Typed it on the fly this afternoon and not sure where I got that one from.
September 20th, 2008 09:25 AM
jake If Daniel was on Around the Horn, the shriveled left nut comment would warrant 3 points from Tony Reali as that is "inside information."

That's not the right context, part of it tho...

Jim Tressel

2001 vs SEC opponent in bowl game down South = loss
2006 vs. SEC opponent in BCSCG = blown out
2007 vs SEC opponent in BCSCG down South = blown out

Rich Rod

2006 vs SEC opponent in BCS bowl game down South = win

That's the context. I'll spell it out even further as I see the s-l-o-w members of the CFB forum have returned: RR was able to take a WV team into the South and do something JT and his squad have been unable to do, and have looked embarassingly bad trying.

Frank,

I'm sure RR would give his left nut for Tressel's BCSCG win too - at least that statement stands until he wins his.

ECD just told you what you were dead wrong about since you didn't believe me and others and all you say is there is valid points all over. Creative.

Streak23 I don't understand what Frank is wrong about though, he's saying JT has a NC, something Richy doesn't have, correct?

OSU beat a far more talented Miami team that year then what UGA has had in forever maybe.
