Columbus can't be too happy hanging around the likes of Rutgers and Boise State. At least the Bucks are ahead of Notre Dame. |

Honestly, I actually think Rutgers is a little low. |

Another poll where Michigan is ahead of OSU. Must be the pre-season.
If prestige were handed out for pre-season rankings we would be heading into Lloyd Carr Stadium this November but since you actually have to get things done on the field we are heading into Michigan Stadium and Lloyd Carr is still there because of Michigan loyalty. Can't wait to drop 6 of 7 on them. |

I may be a bit of an optimist and slightly a "homer" but I think OSU finishing a lot higher than 18th.
Really, OSU below Rutgers? Rutgers?????

From a 'traditional' standpoint, it is also odd seeing Free Shoes University at 24, and PSU off the list. |

How many times this Century has UCLA finished ahead of OSU?
I would think less times than we've finished ahead of them. |

^^ Simply a CBS, let's stir it up a little placement.
TCU is lovin' it now and no one will remember the prediction when the Frogs go down. |

OSU #18 :laugh2:
Looks like CBS was going for shock value, and not validity.
OSU will finish in the Top 12. OSU's D returns and you win with defense, so a top 5 finish is not out of the question if OSU's QB plays well. |

Ahh! September 1, 2007, CBS # 14 ranked Tennessee v. # 16 ranked Cal in Strawberry Canyon.
A little marine layer weather action should put the Vols off their feed.

#18??? Oh well, I said last year that I think preseason #1 is the kiss of death, and it took until the NC game, but it was... IMO, #18 preseason without a tested QB, should be expected. Yet, I believe Tressel will just reload the juggernaut. If he finds a QB to get it done, it may end up 6 of 7... then again, at the out-house, adn Michigan pretty much loaded for bear...it may be a tough one. At least we will still be able to hang our hats on a 5-2 record since the 2nd coming of Woody....hehe. |

I think CBS (pretty much) hit the nail on the head here...Like I said earlier, Rutgers is a little low...
We'll see how good that OSU Defense is after many, many 3 and outs by Todd Beckmen's ( who? :haha: ) offensive Offense. |

Yet, that would make the last 22 games in the series 13-9, Miiiiiiiiiiiiichigan.
2nd coming of Woody? Tressell doesnt hit kids, does he?
He hits 'em with cars, cash, cribs, etc...but not fists. :poke: |

Today's coaching comparison and the record head-to-head means more than the last 22 years, etc.
The fact that Coach Tressel is 5-1 vs. Michigan and more importantly Coach Carr is 1-5 vs. Coach Tressel is relevant as it sits with them during the preparation and execution of the coaching for the game.
Coach Tressel knows right now how many days until we roll into Ann Arbor and Coach Carr knows right now that Coach Tressel know right now!!! |
