These teams played in a 32 team playoff. That's ridiculous.
D-III is ruining these kids educations by making them play in 5 playoff games to determine a National Championship.
D-III has absolutely ruined the regular season. Games mean nothing in the regular season anymore.
Why do D-III conferences even crown League Champions? League Championships mean nothing.
D-III football does it all wrong. |

CEO - how many people do you think actually watch the Div III regular season games? How many do you think actually watch the playoffs?
About the only thing I would imagine most people know is that Mt. Union wins just about every year.
Don't make the Div III playoffs out to be the second coming of christ.
For Div III since they have very little publicity, the playoffs might be a way to get a little notice and attention for recruiting.
But please don't try and compare why Div III has a playoff and why Div I doesn't. It just isn't a good argument in my opinion. |

You can't compare the 2 as there money is the reason for no playoffs not the situation of playoffs/finals testing, etc. There have been some spinsters to try to sell that but we all know the deal. |

Would you rather me compare the NFL to CFB.

NFL Playoffs > CFB Bowl Games |

Again it's a completely different process. The schools in the BCS conferences are making money hand over foot in the regular season due to a high number of home games and then again come bowl season with the BCS as well as other bowls. It's not going to change or if it does it will be tweaked not re-vamped. |

You'd make more money with a playoff.
64 teams right now make Bowl Games.
32 Total Games
32 Team NCAA Playoff
31 Total Games
32 Team NIT Playoff
31 Total Games
62 Total Games
A Lot more money can be made with a playoff. |

Not with the equity they currently have today. And how many regular season games would you have with a 32-team playoff? That would not make the across the board money currently being shared.
The NIT wouldn't be a hit at all. It's different in hoops with multiple games a week, etc. You wouldn't get people to travel and spend money for a NIT like football tourney and too many teams would only have 4 or 5 home games a year in that scenario as your scenario really lends itself to a 1-week regular season. |

Fine then have them continue to play in those silly Bowls you love
32 Team NCAA Playoff
31 Games
32 Teams in the silly bowls
16 Games
47 Total Games
We don't have a playoff right now for the same reason minorities are not hired as Head Coaches. |

I would say this depends on who you ask.
I could care less about the NFL playoffs unless my team is in it!
But I would watch the CF NC game every year!
My passion is college - not NFL. |

What? That's not true. The guaranteed flow of money today's system provides in the regular and post-season is why we don't have a playoff. There is no need for one.

How is it ruining their educations? I bet D3 schools do not go to the away sites to early. They probably leave Friday afternoons, and I know some college football players and they are told to try to not schedule friday classes. Plus, in the D3 playoffs, they don't go halfway across the country to play a game until the semi-finals, maybe the qtr-finals.
How has it ruined the regular season? There are 300+ teams, so only about 10% of teams make the playoffs. That's like D1 having a 12 team playoff.
League championships mean nothing? Tell that to the kids who work their butts off to win a league championship.

mount probably left sometime wed. afternoon by bus, ncaa wont fly them. In '96 we left in the evening and arrived thurs. morning between 2-4a.m. and left after the game for a dinner at the hometown buffet and drove thru the night to arrive back on campus around 5ish a.m. |

You know what CEO -- once again, just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean you need to act like a dictating moron!
I stated I didn't personally care for professional football, I like college.
Comparing the two is idiotic!
- You take college players from all over the United States and put them on one team. That team now has a larger fan base in the NFL. Wow - what the !@#$ is your point?
Thinking a 32 team playoff in Div I is a good thing just makes me wonder how clueless YOU are!
The BCS system works. So why not use it and get the top 8 teams and play? Why do you have to pull in 32 teams? It just doesn't make sense. |

120 FBS teams - Why shouldn't 32 make the playoffs?
D-I Ohio High School Football
115 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-II Ohio High School Football
120 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-III Ohio High School Football
119 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-IV Ohio High School Football
119 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-V Ohio High School Football
121 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-VI Ohio High School Football
121 teams - 32 playoff teams
D-1 College Basketball
340 teams - 65 make the tourney - and they are thinking about expanding the tournament again.
By 2100 Ohio State will have played in a 32 team playoff. Stay alive and see. |

You do know 2100 is less than 100 years away. People have lives longer than 120 years.
If the people in the future are smart enough to have a playoff then why can't idiot's like you get a clue. |

You also know how this whole stupid thing works.
We have to mess around with a 4 team playoff for 10-15 years
Then we have to mess around with a 8 team playoff for 10-15 years
Then we have to mess around with a 12 team playoff for 10-15 years
Then we have to mess around with a 16 team playoff for 10-15 years
Then we have to mess around with a 24 team playoff for 10-15 years
Then we finally get the 32 team playoff.
What is the silly wait, we all know what it will be, so why not just do it now? |
