Topie: More BCS insanity (Hawaii)
December 2nd, 2007 12:22 AM
td truckers Washington is up 21-0 already just 10 minutes into the game out on the islands and the Rainbow Warriors have ONE yard total...could be yet another tumble in the BCS yet tonight!
December 2nd, 2007 12:28 AM
gsh211 Hawaii = Fraud
December 2nd, 2007 12:34 AM
td truckers 21-0 Washington end of 1st quarter and they are at midfield.
December 2nd, 2007 12:34 AM
Buckeye2B Talk about a mid-major... They beat Boise State a week ago, but not by much. And this is NOT the Boise State of last year who beat Okla...
December 2nd, 2007 01:34 AM
ScarletFever Hawaii will come back and at least tie this game, this one's not over.
December 2nd, 2007 01:45 AM
TDub Yeah, Hawaii may be a bit overrated as a team but I don't think their offense is. They'll be back into this game before you know it! In fact, Washington's only up 28-21 at halftime. I know others may not see it the same way, but in my opinion, Colt Brennan is the real deal.
December 2nd, 2007 01:46 AM
ScarletFever Hawaii's offense is BCS worthy.
December 2nd, 2007 09:11 AM
Syringe ^Agree, but no way the NC game. They play NOBODY.
December 2nd, 2007 11:55 AM
gwills610 neither did boise state last year
December 2nd, 2007 11:57 AM
bbmind Boise State wasn't Championship worthy last year but they were BCS worthy and were a nice story.
December 2nd, 2007 12:15 PM
redskinfan04 hawaii is bcs worthy and will be in the bcs this year.

December 2nd, 2007 01:01 PM
theAteam Hawaii won this game last night, even though the majority of the pollsters/voters were probably asleep when it finished. They should still get a BCS game.
December 2nd, 2007 01:37 PM
giffiusmcohio74 I concur ATeam. If you go undefeated when no one else did... you deserve BCS attention.

Then we can pair them up with a legitimate team and see just how good they are!
December 2nd, 2007 01:43 PM
Buzzard79 I concur with being in a BCS game...I lean more towards the National Title Game. Everyone talks about who they play...It does not matter...they went Undefeated. PERIOD

If OSU and all the other one loss teams lose their bowl games and Hawaii wins there then how can a undefeated team not be the national champion...one word for the STUPID

Yeah Let Hawaii play in BCS Snow Bowl in Antartica against who lives there, NOBODY. They will win with an ice cube advantage in a shot of booze!

BTY !!!!!!!!!! LSU should not be 2 and Oklahoma should not be 3 sorry. We need a 8 team playoff for the BCS
December 2nd, 2007 02:02 PM
theAteam Stop talking, Sandman.

Dumb. Hawaii does not deserve to be in the NC game anymore than WV would have if they won last night or anymore than Boise did last year.
December 2nd, 2007 02:12 PM
ScarletFever If you are a college athlete and you want to play in the NC game, don't play in the WAC.

I could work at McDonalds and be employee of the month 30 months in a row, but I'll still be living with my parents. If I want make big $ I won't work at McDonald's.
December 2nd, 2007 02:15 PM
Dr. Torch "If you are a college athlete and you want to play in the NC game, don't play in the WAC."

TRUTH!

No one in Hawaii should cry about ANYthing. ANYTHING!
December 2nd, 2007 02:22 PM
Buzzard79 So what you trying to say is that if your conference did not sign on the dotted line and took away your common sense on choosing a Champion...AKA SEC,Big 12, Big Ten, Pac and the likes.

Then you have no business being in a national title game. I have to believe that Boise State could have put up a better effort than Ohio State did last year. So stop the bias towards the almighty BCS conferences and base a national "Meaning the whole nation" on the teams on the field. Period.
December 2nd, 2007 02:26 PM
gsh211 Hawaii will get their BCS bowl (cough-cough).

They got on board with the best system at the time...
And they got to keep their Bowl money.

There will be a plus 1 or 4 team playoff in the future...we gotta take baby steps to get there and the BCS is the first step IMO.
Anyone remember life before the BCS?
Tell my why the 97 Wolverines had to SHARE a title with a much less deserving Nebraska team???

BCS conferences have the toughest schedules. PERIOD.
BCS cnferences have the best talent. PERIOD
BCS Conferences have the best college coaches. PERIOD.

BCS itself isn't the best, but it the best we have right now.
BCS conferences cover a lot of ground too

Hawaii should be happy to get into the BCS, Boise state gave the WAC some credibility last year. Lets hope they don't lose the credibility.

Buzzard79 Then who ever wins that BCS championship should call themselves the BCS Champions and surely not the National Champions...for there is a very distinct difference in the two meanings...
December 2nd, 2007 06:19 PM
gsh211 BCS Champions = National Champions

Wait...doesn't the NCAA sanction the BCS?

Therefore whoever wins the BCS championship wins the NCAA championship.
Which is a National championship.

Define the difference.

December 2nd, 2007 06:31 PM
GoKats78 The NCAA does not have award a Div. 1 National Championship in Football - never has... probably never will....
December 2nd, 2007 06:42 PM
Buzzard79 Thank you GoKats78 seems some did not know that.
December 2nd, 2007 06:59 PM
GoKats78 I don't understand why not... The biggest collegiate sport...

Every other sport - done to fencing - has a national championship!

$$$$$

that's why.
December 2nd, 2007 10:10 PM
ptangzoot If the NCAA had an issue with it they would step up.

Silence speaks volumes.

still waiting for the definition.
