Topie: Michigan Medical Marijuana and methadone takehomes
January 3rd, 2012 11:36 PM
Robm4n Hello i need some help here, i been a patient for 2 years at this clinic 4 years in total, anyways i have weekly takehomes, i got legal for the medical marijuana program, and i submitted my paperwork to the clinic and all was fine for 6 months with me dropping dirty for THC, then one day the clinic comes to me and says we have to take your takehomes away because your dropping dirty for THC, i was like well im legal, there like you cant drop drity for thc and have takehomes no matter what , so while talking to the doctor we worked out if i stopped smoking i could keep my takeshomes and he would re drop me in 1 month if i came up clean no actions would be taken, so i stopped i still have my takes homes, but i am see other people at my clinic who are dropping dirty and r legal have there takes homes and some dont its so inconsistant, i just need someone to tell me where to look or what the law is on this or what i should do, i use marijauana for headaches and isomnia and i would really like to start using it again as it worked very well.

thanks in advance.

Fammon Maybe they either saw your cannabis level spike or drop. The former indicates you're abusing and the latter that you are selling. To be honest, I probably know 1 in 100 junkies who would use dank as "prescribed". I feel the same way about benzos. I'm a recovering addict, not a doctor. I take ibuprofen for headaches and eat carbs and masturbate when I'm sleepless. It works.

Robm4n For one, there isnt a Prescribed level for cannabis, and sorry Motrin doesnt work for my headaches, and well i dont need masturbation.. i have a girlfriend, and i dont sell anything. my levels were not going up and down i smoked one time every night and when i got a headache here n there . never alot more one month or alot less another

Fammon Oh, I didn't know how medical weed works. Thanks. I'm glad to hear you're not abusing it. Are you certain these other clients have a script for grass? If so, perhaps there was another flag not in your favor. Are you in full compliance otherwise?
January 5th, 2012 06:47 PM
Robm4n It's a recommendation for medical marijuana, not really a prescription, and yes the other clients do, and i am probily the most compliant patient at the clinic besides the medical marijuana thing obviously.....

Fammon All things being equal, it's clearly personal. Do any of these other clients share the same counselor you have? If they don't, perhaps it's an advocacy issue at the counselor level. Otherwise it's you. Are you annoying?

Robm4n my counselor has his he is all for it.. no im not annoying

Fammon When appropriate, hopefully. Gadflies often are. Alas, the end justifies the means. Has the lazy horse not swatted at me with its tail to its own benefit? To the benefit of everyone?

socrates Moving on...
Remember the purpose and the goal - let no communication breakdowns get in the way - otherwise I will see "you" (general use) as selfish or thin-skinned.

Once again, eyes on the greater good/goal.

mike9158 Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I came in late on this. Interesting discussion to say the least. Anyway, Robm4n, I didn't read whether or not your clinic had an advocate, but if so, I would suggest you make sure you go through the proper channels and bring your issue to the advocate's attention.
If your clinic has no client or patient advocate, every clinic has a grievance procedure and based on everything you have posted being fact, it sounds like you might have a grievable issue here. The important thing is to remember to follow the grievance procedure to the letter and make everything in writing (POLITE but in writing). Once you submit a grievance in writing, you have a right to a written response in a certain time frame. Be careful however, because my past experience with most clinics is that the administration does not like those who, IN THEIR OPINION, "rock the boat". Your counselor, who you indicate supports your stance, should be able to give you complete information on the clinic's grievance procedure and should be able to caution you on things in your grievance that could come back to bite you.
I would start with this step first and if you are not successful, there are other options you may consider as I am sure many of us could share with you.
Also, If there any other issues you want to discuss that you may not want to post in general, you can send me a PM or e-mail. In any event, welcome to MSO. I hope you stick around and join us.
Socrates, as always, good to see you buddy. I think as long as I have known you, you have been a "voice of reason" in these forums.
Donna, just want to say hi and let you know I will be PMing you later this afternoon. And Fammom, hope this finds you doing good as well.
Take care all,

Fammon Socrates was a gadfly who altered the course of the entire world for the better, forever. A man like Buddha who lit the way for The Christ, Gandhi and MLK. They nip with intent.

CareBearCounselor As for the medical THC... the problem may be federal. Because methadone production and distribution is regulated by the DEA and federal gov. and since the feds say THC is illegal then there may be an issue there... I will say I had a patient that is prescribed Marinol for a major disease, and while she never took it or tested positive it was never a big deal. Remember, the feds say the states can make the THC rules, but the feds can still take you down for it if they really want to.

mike9158 HI all,
CareBear, you make a good point. My experience exactly...the Feds can pretty well make up the rules and do what they want as they go. I worked in corrections for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for almost 11 years and was amazed to see the authority the Feds have when they push various issues.

Take care,

Fammon She never took it nor tested positive for it? Did she fill it?
January 26th, 2012 05:39 AM
CareBearCounselor No, her methadone medication helped to suppress a lot of the major symptoms.
