Tactician All of a sudden I have this error message on my site:

Line: 845
Char: 33
Error: Expected ':'
Code: 0
URL: "http://excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=15201"

Anyone kn ow what this is?

SivoxII Sorry nope! ... but it looks particularly nasty!

I'd guess that in a piece of coding, it's looking for a ':' someplace, where it currently can't interpret the command it's trying to execute?

Tactician Ya it is wierd, I put in a code for a scroller, then the alert popped up, I took the code out and the alert is still there.

These alerts aggrivate me badly.

out of complete curiousity I submitted your page to the Html Toolbox at www.NetMechanic.com

line #845 appears to be the new "default avatar" script that Sage recently posted.

(maybe this link will remain active to show you the results) http://r.netmechanic.com/toolbox/html_repair/cr.cgi?f=f/112/256/1901/59-22985/&p=1&vi=1&fp=1&fv=5&s=NetMechanic

if the link went dead by the time you read this, then just go to NetMechanic.com and type your EXCOBOARD's full url into the HtmlTolbox and it can help you.

good luck.

Cuffy Hi mate , just letting you know i have seen this also & it can be 1 or 2 things , I understand you probably know what your doing in the scripts ,but i think the first thing to double check is : Check all your script again and just see you have deffo not left some part of the script you said you added sorry if this sounds obvious, and 2nd thing if the scripts you added are remotely hosted check that the site is up and running ,they may be having server probs.

Hope you work it out pal good luck .

ps , sorry paul you posted as i was typing lol sorry.

SivoxII I think we all knew it was something to do with your coding (or a particular script/routine added) ... bad code/missing operator etc. etc.

The thing is, us Exco peeps are always tripping over each other to help others (and I mean that in a very good way) ... just glad you got it fixed, as I know only too well, what it is like trying to 'fault find' coding issues.

Glad that "cAPe man" came up with the goods though! :)
