Hoser I see the option for forum archives but not sure how it works. How many posts in a thread have to be made before things are actually moved there or does it go by so many days? Also if I click on that will it mess things up like archive posts and will they be able to be retreived?

sdn It doesn't matter how many posts are in a thread. What matters is how many threads are in a forum. once a forum reaches 150 threads, the last 50 get archived. You could have 149 threads with a zillion posts in each and not have anything be archived, or you could have 150 threads with no replies and have the last 50 archived. There is no way to "get back" the posts you have archived; they are converted to HTML pages and probably deleted from the database.

Hoser Thanks. I guess I worded it wrong. I meant to say how many threads in a fourm. That sucks about the archiving. I have a freebie site with many threads. Because of this feature I will then lose many threads that are still valid freebie offers.

sdn You can still click the option to view all threads or view archives. The all threads option may even bring back archived posts, but I don't know.

Hoser Thanks sdn. I have been doing that at times and perhaps this will bring back archived ones. I hope so. I will find out soon enough. At present we don't have 150 threads in a forum yet but soon we may in some. Thanks for your help.

It wont bring back archived posts. It only shows you active threads. Well active in the sense hey havent been locked and archived yet.

The forums only show 50 (I think its 50) threads on the first page. Clicking "View all topics" will show you which ones fell off the first page, but havent been archived yet.
