My image gallery images are not loading. They have always loaded in the past...so is it a glitch or have I done something wrong?
I go to the gallery, hit browse, pic my image and image address won't post in the box to submit.......wth? |

It could be that the pic is too large, or a .png, or you have reached the limit of 50. I have sent you a pm. |
|

I can't even get anything to post in the box for it to submit....small pics, big pics....nada. You hit the browse button, select the picture you want and no text will even get in the box for you to submit. And I don't have anywhere near 50 in there. |

Okay, I signed up to your "The Storm Cellar"
Tested on IE7!
Now, it lets me browse for an image link, it shows the image link in the link box (white text on a mid grey) ... BUT, once you hit submit (in this case only) ... the text "...specified is either an invalid name, or contains Zero bytes. The maximum file size is 150 Kb per image" is the same colour as the backdrop, so you have to highlight the black space to see it.
Is this the same problem?

Okay I will go look! |
|

THANKS!!!Yep you are right! I had to highlight the black to see it. I have never had to do that before? I was always able to see it, so why did it change? |

I tried with firefox and all works fine |

Could be a global text setting/colouring or you've made recent changes to this table background element in your style settings? (just a couple of suggestions) |

Yup, the whole IE v Firefox ... certain colours can be viewed against a background with Firefox, which can't in IE and vice-versa.

No I didnt change. What would you suggest I do so people can see it? |

ok, have just tried with ie7 and have managed to upload a pic |

Yup, works okay on IE, except for the "The maximum file size" text display colour against the backdrop. The other thing being, the text is VERY large, so there must have been a custom setting changed at some point I would think?

Text is very large in what custom setting?....I am guilty of that probably! |

.. sorry I missed it and had to edit. "The maximum file size ..." prompt text. |

I just tried it again and it is still white letters in a white box, I can only see it when I highlight it. Firefox must not be rendering the background color of the box correctly.
My husband checked it on his IE computer and the background was grey in the box instead of white. |

if I understand correctly the issue is that you are getting the error message when you try and upload a pic. We have established that the error message was not visible because the text is black and your background is black. I have managed to upload a few pics into the gallery. This suggests that there is something not right with the image you are uploading. |

No I didn't get the error message. I just couldn't see that that the link was in the upload image to folder box because it was a white box and when you posted the link in there... it was white letters,....thus it looked like nothing was in there because it was white on white. It STILL is white on white......so it looks like you are submitting nothing.....cause you can't see it.
In IE the box is grey so when you post the link you can actually SEE the letters.
It must be a glitch with firefox.....the question is can you fix it or will it just have to remain like this?

This is what i get with firefox, which strangely is not the same as you get.
I think you may have to change the text to a different color other than white.

No I wish I got that.... but with mine it is a white box with white letters. I guess I can just change the color of the letters then. Thanks for trying...I really appreciate your time. |

I'm not real sure where to change the letter colors, just on the upload image to folder box...
Would it be text input field? |

I need access to your admin CP to check it out. I am thinking it may work if the text area color is changed.

Thats okay....my husband said that we just updated to the new ubuntu 8.04 and it has firefox 3 beta5 on it.....so it could be a prob with that. I'll wait till the final release of firefox comes out and see if that changes anything. I really appreciate you trying to help me with this, at least I know that I can upload images now.....I just need to highlight the link. |

Ok, no worries, but you can also try and change your text area color to a darker color.... ie the area where you type on. |

Okay I may want to try that....I just don't want to screw anything up. Thanks so much!!! |

I just changed it and it didn't work. Worked on every thing but that crazy little box!!! Hubby said its probably in the html coding on the page that set up that box.
The wierd thing is ALL the other boxes on the site are grey EXCEPT that one CRAZY box.....which is white!!!! So it is probably in the page coding. |

It is always wise to make a back up of all your templates BEFORE you make any changes so if anything goes wrong, you will have a copy. Also put up a notice on your forum so that if your members are having the same problem they will know why.
Good luck with your forum, hope you get things sorted. |

I did some testing on my board ..... changed the text input area and it didnt work, then changed the SUBMIT button and it did the trick... ie changed the colour of the CRAZY box LOL
If it doesnt work for you then is must be a display issue with FF

Sorry I couldn't stick around with this problem earlier, had outside chores which had to be attended to.
It sounds like a mix between custom coding and your version of Firefox. Since I started using Firefox (purely for cross-browser testing) ... they have fixed a lot of bugs, mainly visual, so you could probably find that one version is more compatible with IE colour settings than another. Trial and error really, if you can't adapt style/template settings to work on both browsers.

One other idea while I think of it, if you grab a colour bar from the net, one "full colour" and one "grey scale" ... you can load them in each browser and visually test how each interprets a certain shade. That way, you may see why a certain hue of pale grey, becomes white in your version of Firefox.
