Catchow Sorry but I appear to dimwitted again. Where are you seeing this about a built in group. On a new board do you really need to set up user groups?

*goes off to look at control panel*

I still don't understand for sure what you are asking. Could you tell me where you saw the info you are referring to? The heat has cooked my brain.

mom2raielyse its under forum administration and when you click on "edit" it gives you an option to have certain access to users in the access permission area....it has an "Authorized
(Built-in group)"

and the reason for this is because we are moving from another server to here and we have memebers already and only certain ones are allowed in those forums from our other board

BluAngelGrrl The authorized users group allows those in that group to see the whole board, same as a moderator would, except they have no moderating capablities. What you would need to do, is to set up a brand new usergroup for those people coming from your board, and then go through the forums and give them the Read/Post permissions. You'll have to do that with each section in the forum edit areas.

Remember, authorized can also see in the admin area, that is why you want to set up a seperately named usergrop for those from the other board you are migrating from.

BluAngelGrrl Ok...I thought you might. You set up the usergroup, then add the people, then I'd go back and do the edits to get them into the areas you want them to access that regular members are not allowed. Good luck.
