Topie: Notify me of error without losing PM data?
April 24th, 2008 09:25 AM
Thekahlan I type up a long PM that's going to several members of my clan and hit the Submit button and get this white screen that tells me so-and-so is not a valid member are you sure you spelled the name correctly (or something very similar) and my long PM is gone!

This has happened many, many (too many) times and "usually" I do a copy of the data in the PM "just in case" but of course things go well for several posts and it's *always* the one I forget to copy that messes up!

Isn't there a way that I can be notified of the error without losing the data in the PM? Why do I have to lose the entire content just because I forgot a letter in a member's name or didn't put a ">" in the right place!?

LoneWolf That's an issue that needs to be taken up with Peter. Maybe there is something serverside he can work with to stop that. Many of us have had the same exact problem and most of us do copy before hitting submit, but I know I personally have forgotten on occasion, and that's when the thing you describe seems most likely to happen. (sigh)
