Topie: question adding excogames
January 15th, 2007 09:14 AM
mom2girls I have this link http://excogames.com/ that I got off of another thread here..can't remember which one ...but they too were asking about an arcade...anyhow..

My question is how and where do I add those excogames t0 my board...?
January 15th, 2007 05:56 PM
seb_thib_55 No I do not think you would be allowed to add these games to your site.
But what would be allowed would be linking to the games. :)

SivoxII A know a lot of people link (embed) the games on their forum posts! ... that's okay isn't it?
January 15th, 2007 06:03 PM
seb_thib_55 Normally not really as it can violate copyright rules.
Embeding a game can steal bandwith + some may not like you stealing their games. They rather you come to their site to play the game then you playing it on someone elses site am I right?
If they allow embeding, they will say it clearly and give you a nice code so you can easily install it.

Excogames does not allow this. *Goes and read TOS*

EDIT: No TOS to be found only this page.

SivoxII Sorry Seb, I meant to mention downloading it (as the typical object embedding code with .SWF files) to upload to your own server/hosting provider.

Excogames.com allows embedding though???

SivoxII We use www.miniclip.com, www.freeonlinegames.com etc. etc. for a kids section on our forum (just the typical download code for embedding into a post)

Grumpy if we can't download why is there a copyright at bottom of the games available that says excoboard.com??? TIA Seb thanks for checking in with Peter to clarify this ?

2BZ_2_Chat Mamabear (Grumpy) and I established our SM board about 5 months ago. We have had a few Exco.com games on our board since then. I recently added a link to all the games...so that our members can have access to the entire list and select whichever game they would like to play out of the 100's available.

At the bottom left of each game is a small window that says:

To use this game on your forum, site or blog, copy and paste the following code into your html code.

Each game has it's own individual html code so that one or all can be "embedded/downloaded/copied and pasted" to your own message board forum. All the games are Excoboards.com copyrighted....but are available to anyone and everyone....regardless of what kind of board you have (i.e.Invision, proboard, VBulletin, etc).

Peter You can embed the games in your forums, website or anywhere else you like.
