Topie: [Merged] Background image?
September 11th, 2007 09:06 AM
Ice Okay, this is doing my noggin in now! :D

Ive looked through here but cant seem to find the answer, unless im in thick mode. :D

How do you resize a picture to fit the background page of your forum as 1 large picture, not like a patchwork quilt?
Ive ran a picture through Paint shop pro and enlarged it and it looks brilliant there,no defects or blurriness at all,i transfer it over to PhotoBucket and as soon as i upload it onto the site, the flippin patchwork quilt scenario happens again!

Any help would be muchly appreciated. :)

Grumpy Ice, I wish I could help you but getting things "untiled" isn't one of my talents. I know that Siv is good at that kind of thing and likely a few others. So you may have to wait a bit till they arrive on the scene. Sorry I'm no help.

Ice Hi and thank you Grumpy for the reply.:)

Yes,Siv is my hero bless him! He is actually helping me with the new look forum but i thought id try and help myself a little more and see if i could do it. Never mind,i'll await my knight in shining armour! :D

BluAngelGrrl I alwasy make my background image 800x600. That way you can then just have it as one solid background. Would it be possible for you to remake it that size? If you can post the pic here, I'll be happy to take a try at it until we can get it right. Or Siv may have a better idea.

*puts on thinking cap*

Ice Awww,thanking you BluAngelGrrl,much appreciated. :)
Siv has been an angel bless him and i dont want to pile everything up onto him,i like to try things myself and so far,ive even surprised myself with the test forum except for this flippin 'Tiled' image which i want in one big solid picture as the back ground page.

Any help will be appreciated. :)

bunk Ice
You mave already thought of / done this ?
At PB there are settings that you must change, to increase the allowable size of uploads....... Right above the lines that you use to browse to your images you will see: Max Image size, then ( Options in blue letters ) If you have not changed these settings, click options> you will get a menu of optional size settings to choose from.......... I set mine to 1024 X 768, I rarely upload anything that large, but it topped out my limit if I so choose.

Hope this is helpfull........

SivoxII Hey Ice!

I'll sort this out for you (with total respect to others help above) .... didn't want to change too much on your board last night, but the background was certainly on my list of plans (just didn't want to fiddle too much without your permission)

Siv :)
