It's days like this that I'm glad that my xKOS stops are in place. |

Great.... watch for the turnaround folks. |

Techniques instead of using stops
(1) Put protection
(2) Hedge with defensive, large caps
(3) Always sell on up days, so one can buy back on down days
(4) Short your own shares
I am doing (2), (3) and (4), need to further improve those techniques, i.e do more of those.
If one can master thees, ya'll make big money. |

I like (1) instead of stops. I'm thinking of throwing in the towel with daytrading altogether and just doing things like xKOS and certain swing trades. |

Out of the money puts and calls are "worth it" from a return-to-risk ratio when holding to expiry... at least the last time I looked..
But the spread makes daytrading with them not worth it.
membar, if you stop day trading, then it'll just be me?? Maybe ISA, but haven't heard from him in a while. |

I'd still be doing the xKOSes and still be around. I'm just sick of getting stopped out when daytrading. |

I wonder how many extra shares of FAS I'll pick up at the end of the day. |

My code might actually select holding FAZ overnight....
I "test" ran it, and it was giving a FAZ open for tomorrow's gap. I'm just afraid a bailout package will be created overnight while I'm stuck in FAZ....
but...
I've gotta be a machine and follow the statistics/strategy. |

I'd be way too scared to hold FAZ overnight. I probably shouldn't even hold FAS.
Looks like we're headed towards DOW 11xxx |

Does daytrading tna/tza count? We're still in the game. |

I'm still here, I lurk, I just don't post as often as I used to, not much to report really.
I scalped AGQ this morning, in at 197.67, out at 201.40.
Days like today I'm glad I day trade and don't buy and hold, I mean just look at the plummet on AGQ today, would have hated to be holding during that. I just can't hold long by my nature, if I were holding today, I would have not been able to resist a reverse scalp after AGQ plumetted more than 2% in about 15 minutes, but then again, i suppose people who hold long don't watch it all day like us day traders do. |

and i believe 888nycnyc888 was still day trading last time he chimed in |

Well, I made money off of AGQ/ZSL today despite being stopped out with AGQ, so I'm still in the daytrading game. |

I was looking at tza out of the shute @33.40.
Of course, I didn't get in. But I'm interested in the short side all summer.

I day trade and swing trade.
Having more success with swing trades recently.
Generally I have fixed sell points. Many times they appear the same day (day trade) and many times have to wait a day or tow. |

So my code chose FAZ for the overnight hold, and cites a 54% of FAS < 0 open, so the statistics are slight. The predicted open is 25.39 for FAS.
I hope this isn't a programming error.

Good luck! I'd be scared after a massive down day like this. |

Same here... At least I've got a "buffer" from earnings today. |
