membar I'm getting a bit weary of doing this strategy setup every day and fretting about whether they'll make money or not, especially after the setback of feeding FAS/FAZ the wrong parameters. I'm committed to sticking this out for a year, though, unless I hit my max. drawdown.

membar I'm going to try one morning scalp since I've had really good luck in the mornings and bad luck in the afternoons.

In FAZ @ 65.74, SL 63.11, PT 66.50.

membar nocash: I'm pretty sure the bottom is in for gold (and also the market). I know nothing, though.

My strategy bought FAZ, got stopped out of it, then switched to FAS at 10.63, but then NinjaTrader got confused because I had manually done that FAZ scalp earlier and sold FAS instantly afterwards for 10.63. I just realized this now, thinking I was in FAS all this time.

I give up - I just can't win.

Have you thought about halving your positions and using reversal strategies?

It's not the scalp that messed me up, it's the fact that NinjaTrader got out of whack after I did my FAZ scalp while it was in FAZ too with the strategy. It went psycho after that. I am using half positions and reversals with the automated strategies. Today would have been wonderful, even though stopped out of FAZ if NT hadn't gone psycho on me because it got confused with my scalp.

I did a mental scalp of 10000 shares of FAS @ 11.30, profit target 11.36 - then it plummeted to 11.15.

membar Wow, -$3K mental dollars in a matter of seconds.

This was a really sucky day to miss out on. I don't know how to recover from this? Wait for a string of losing days before jumping in again?

At least I made money on AGQ today. That's one friend who's been pretty loyal lately.

nocash Membar i sort of agree but I think the market has made it to easy to stay long gold so far. So I picture it going down hard one more time before going up and torturing the shorts. That's my guess but who knows. I think I'm a better guesser when I have no skin in the game yet. If it doesn't drop first I'm not buying.

I have a feeling my long puts and short puts are going to all expire worthless, leaving me with a net debit since I doubled down on those $140 puts. Ideally, GLD would be about $157 when my puts expire, but I think we might have missed the boat on that one. I hope you're right.
